that's right.
you can't 'become' what you supposed to 'become' if life isn't tough.
coz that's the way it is!

Just cause I'm young doesn't mean I haven't been through alot. And I hate being referred to as a "child", I'm more mature than most people here will ever be.

Say what you want, anime itself is looked at as childish by all people who doesn't watch it themselves you know so you hanging out here doesn't make you any better. I'm 16 and I'm already engaged and have a job so if you'll excuse me I'll go to bed with my fiancè now cause I gotta get up to work tomorrow

being engaged not necessarily mean you're mature.
and sleeping with your fiancé also doesn't help.

I'm from Colombia. I lived there for about 15 years and I saw many horrible things. Poverty, corruption, small children without education because they had to work selling cigarettes on the streets. The daily violence of the guerrillas, kidnappings, etc. My parents were lucky enough to get US Visas. But sadly my whole family still lives there and the economical situation is getting worse and worse. I was lucky enough to leave before turning 18; otherwise I would have had to enlist in the army for at least a year since it's mandatory. A couple of old friends had to enroll, and one year later they came back home without a leg. My country is in like the top 3 of having the most land mines.
Obtaining the US citizenship takes time, so it will be at least 8 years for me to be able to visit my family.
Despite all of this I cannot complain. I am getting an education, I don't have any serious illnesses, I have never been in a war, my parents are alive, etc. My parents lived in Colombia all their lives, and they were brave enough to leave their family, jobs, and our house which they paid with a lot of sacrifice. They left their lives and decided to start all over again so that I could have a better future. All these experiences have taught me to never take things for granted. The first thing I do when I'm feeling down or pissed is to consider what my family in Colombia must be going through, and how lonely my parents must be feeling, knowing that probably my grandfathers and grandmothers will die before we are able to visit them.

Happiness involves struggle, accomplishment, and never taking things for granted.

EDIT: This is why I cannot stand emos.
(which by the way are nonexistent in my country, so I find it absolutely ridiculous that there are so many here)
