Gon405 beat me to it!

Because 4510471 jk, I do part time and am too lazy to respond to job offers since many of them make me into a cog of society and limits my freedom and free thinking! I'd rather take my time and find a job I would enjoy doing. Selfish? Yes, probably.

Psh there's nothing wrong with people not working dude. There's a bunch of reasons why a person can't work... I can't cuz I'm not even old enough
Can't you apply for working papers at your school?

I have 3 days left to finish my coursework so a job isn't my priority right now.

Right now, no one is giving me a job. I've been putting myself out there like crazy but I get stuck with the interviews. But I have a couple good looking prospects tho

Because I'm too lazy to work and go to school at the same time. I think I deserve a bit more time to enjoy my youth. It's not like I already have a lot of issues and complexes.

Because there are basically no jobs in the US. Employers even screen test people who haven't worked in over a period time and automatically ignore their application so that doesn't help either.

Just wondering why some of you aren't working. There are jobs out there and I know companies that are hiring like mad, so why aren't you working?

I can understand if you are disabled, or in school, but I swear some people just aren't trying.

Did all you who posted "I'm in school" miss this line in the OP or what?

That being said, our unemployment rate while being said at 5.4% isn't quite that good, since most of the employed are also underemployed and that number doesn't count people who have given up looking for work like the 30% of the people replying to this thread have done because they aren't getting call-backs.

Maybe because you can apply to 100 different places and all of them ignore you?

I don't know if I like the responsibility of getting a job being put all the individual. It's impossible when no one hires you, even when you a college degree in your field, the right experience, and references.

tl;dr- employers have no idea what they are doing anymore.

try another field/career...

A lot of jobs are saturated with applicants, add things to your resume. Simple things like getting CPR certified in certain careers helps. Other careers have other things you can add to your resume.

I had customer service experience, I tried getting a job doing that. Well after a long search I switched what i was looking for, I got a certification to do something else and had a job in 2 weeks. Just an example to back up my statement.

I understand that the market is retardley soft right now, but saying that America is "full employment" with almost 100 million people not working is silly.

Wow 30% unemployment!Where are you living at?
