I can understand if you are disabled, or in school, but I swear some people just aren't trying.

I understand that the market is retardley soft right now, but saying that America is "full employment" with almost 100 million people not working is silly.

Wow 30% unemployment!Where are you living at?

I'm in the middle of a job search at the moment, and the advice I received was very helpful, so i'll list it below. Just in case it helps anyone!

First, determine the job level you're seeking: minimum wage, GED-requirement, entry-level Bachelors-requirement, years of experience required, Graduate studies, etc.

Second, determine the field to look into, research and become more educated in: a specific kind of engineering, a kind of service, a kind of art, etc.

Third, get involved on LinkedIn! <----- I can support this wholesale. LinkedIn is an awesome resource for building your resume, getting contacts, and finding jobs in your field. A lot of companies post jobs on LinkedIn before posting them on their website or job searching engines, and a LinkedIn profile helps both employers find you and you find employers.

Fourth, don't neglect education! There are many entry-level jobs available with a Bachelor's degree in certain fields of engineering, data, statistics and computing, which is where i'm looking at currently; the problem is finding one near your location. Most of them require you to move.

I am a disabled vet, I am currently 70%, my last job was working as a security guard for the Oakland A's, had to quit because of the amount of pain I was in. I also was attending school, trying to get my degree for animation and visual effects, PTSD made completing school difficult for me.

I got my 1st job when I was 18, after applying at places for YEARS.
No one wanted to put a high school kid on

Still working the same job today because I like it though.
I wouldn't make it a career but if I didn't like it, I would've quit already.

Because there are basically no jobs in the US. Employers even screen test people who haven't worked in over a period time and automatically ignore their application so that doesn't help either.

After reading all the comments I feel like the odd one out here x3 The only real reason that I don't have a job (and I've never had one to begin with) is because I have really bad anxiety issues. Just the mere thought of getting a job makes me nervous and kinda scared. I'm not all that great at socializing with strangers and just in general, so I can't even imagine myself going through an interview. It seriously just seems terrifying O_O But yeah, obviously there's some things I need to work on as this is something that most people probably don't struggle with to the same degree as me xD

If I am unemployed in my home country, but outsource my efforts to another one, does that count?
