Do you judge people based off their taste in entertainment?

I do to a degree. I more so judge based on actions and say clothing. I try not to but I do it subconsciously and hate that I do it.

Only if we differ in opinion, I would playfully judge them. For example If I liked Furious 7 and my friend didn't id say " Your taste in movies must suck " but I would only mean it to a certain degree

I try not to but I do. If you watch reality tv shows and you call it "entertainment" then I have a little less respect for you. But I would not treat you differently cuz of it because I know a lot of people watch it to pass time or w.e. But I just feel like there are way better shows on tv and of course anime that are actually really good. I know I shouldn't but I do. Also if i ever do say anything about it, it would be in a playful or tone.

Most of the time I don't do it. I tend to judge people's attitude towards the entertainment they enjoy more often: for instance, if you are the kind of person that take every critic to a show you like as if were a personal attack then you are not worth my time.

Movies, music, shows, games, etc. Do you judge people based off this? People judge anime/manga fans, gamers, etc. But there's more out there. People who likes certain bands or genres, do you judge them? Is this natural?

What do you think?

Edit: To answer my own question, I try not to. But only if it's a "negative" form of entertainment, like horribly demeaning rap or something ultra violent like that. Even then, there's a certain line to where the person enjoys it from.

I try not too judge people, but that is impossible. So I usually just keep my opinions of them to myself and try not to let it affect how I treat them.

I usually don't care, unless they are being obnoxious with their chosen enterianment (e.g loud music late at night).

If a guy were to say he likes Yaoi, I would definitely judge him and stay clear of him.

What if it were women that likes Yaoi? xD

....

As for me, I do judge people by what they do rather than what they look like 75% of the time. I didn't say 100 because that would be lying. Many people dress "their feelings out" if you know what I mean. However, I do go by their action more and in this case their form on entertainment. To save potential wasted time I suppose.

Yeah. But if their taste varies, like one day they'll like something that is the complete opposite of what they liked some previous day, then not really.

For example: if some I know likes to console and pc game and not play any mmorpgs, just shooting and open world sandbox, then I'll think, "Oh this person is a generic gamer that just plays AAA games and dislikes any type of anime/manga since they perceive that as childish."

But if also have another unexpected side that likes rom/com, chick flicks movies, and anime/manga along with the AAA gaming, then I'll be like, "Hmm.... You have a very interesting taste in entertainment and I like that."

I try not to, and most of the time i don't because we all like different stuff.

But a friend of mine was trying to convince me that "noise" is a good music genre...even though it's barely music...and i got really pissed off because i know he only 'likes' it to try and be edgy and cool. It's painful.
(seriously if you haven't heard noise before, please youtube it and then just try tell me that it's not awful)

Also hate it when people hate on things excessively when they haven't even played/watched/heard/etc. the entertainment and are just going off what they have read online. Form your own opinions people!

kinda. in a sense it's hard for me to make conversation so using similar interest in entertainment is a way of extending the conversation. however, i don't think any differently of another person if they have different interests. i think different opinions and personalities exist for a reason. then again if i just wanted to go talk to someone who is just strictly interested in the interest topic i guess i'd just go to reddit or a forum.
