Dubstep is really awesome to listen to, but its going to be hard for it to be popular in my area (Louisiana AKA "Dirty South").

I'm not a fan of dubstep. There are a couple dubstep/EDM songs I've heard that I liked or thought were pretty good, but they're few and far between. The dubstep soundtrack was a big part of why I couldn't really get as invested in Parasyte, honestly. It just doesn't work as well. Dubstep works best with AMVs, I think. Plenty of opportunities for slick editing; in fact, the only dubstep songs I've thought were any good were those found in AMVs.

2012 Dubstep was dope. Then Skrillex and Borgore and whomever else started this movement of high pitched I-dont-even-know-what and just screwed everything up. Now every dubstep song I hear just sounds like they sampled dental equipment

I remember a few years ago when I hated dubstep now I really like it and I have actually started to make some ( oh the irony). Its not true that all dubstep is just bass, every artist has their own interpretation of what dubstep is.

So even though this https://youtu.be/aKgkC8mo8UA?t=2m38sis in the same genre it doesn't sound anything like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytpJnGWuw0U The same thing goes for pretty much any other genre of music.

There is some dubstep I like and will listen to a lot.
Then there is some that makes me want to strangle someone for playing.

This is my opinion, if you don't agree then fine... But don't start a argument about it...

Dubstep is NOT music due to it just being high bass and nothing worth listening to...

Personally I dont like dubstep but arguing its not music is stupid.

Like this is still music

Does it lack structure? yes.
Is it unconventional? yes
But its still music.

But in my opinion dubstep is not for me. I always found it to be the heavy metal of tweaked out bedroom electronica obsessed pre-teens.

Also am I the only fucking person who notices how loud dubstep is mixed. Jesus Christ.

Awesome. The good dubstep, at least. I first got into dubstep when I heard Rock 'N Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain) by Skrillex on Just Dance, then I became OBSESSED with dubstep, mostly Skrillex. I now know that the majority of Skrillex's music is kind of crap. But I now have an appreciation for any music with awesome bass (Trap, Nightcore, house, etc.) and dubstep will always hold a special place in my heart.

Dubstep died in 2009 as soon as the whole brostep sound became the main thing. Then again you could say it progressed if you're going with the post-dubstep/bass music side of the spectrum. Doesnt matter since many of the original musicians, pre-Skrillex era, have since moved onto more established genres like house, UK garage, and techno. The way I see the evolution of the sound:

Late 90s - c. 2002: Proto-dubstep/Dark garage/Nu dark swing

I feel like it can edited too much. I know it must be hard to make the music, but I prefer more instumental sounds. I hope it doesn't get more popular. But I guess I do like Daft Punk, but I don't know if that counts as dubstep.

Dubstep is just experimental noise leading up to a bass drop. Every song has it and that is always what it leads to. Even then, it is made to be so loud that your ears will bleed and all these loud, scattered noises just going everywhere. To me, it isn't music. It is somebody messing around in a studio. Things like techno at least has some variety and you can add a lot to it. Most dubstep just sounds the same
