Are there any CR members over the age of 40?
Posted 5/12/15
Hello World!

Tomorrow is my 45th birthday. My anime/manga hobby started last August 2014, and I am still a newbie at it. I am also learning how to hand-draw for the very first time, besides what I did in school, decades ago.

My BIGGEST question for Crunchyroll forums...
Are there any CR members over the age of 40?

I guess my secondary question is...
Are there any Crunchyroll employees over the age of 40?

People over the age of 40, you can send me a private message if you don't want to reveal your age in public.

Yea there's quite a few. They are still far outnumbered by the vast majority of 13-Eary twenties users though.

That's somewhat assuring. Thanks for your comment.

Actually, there's quite a few of us, though not as many are active participants in the forums.

Welcome to anime. I'm sure you are going to find lots of stuff to enjoy. And don't be afraid to watch older series. Animation styles have changed, but there are some great old shows that are worth watching.

The RA situation is more common than you think, too. I just turned 47 myself this month. Have you tried any of the voice-typing programs yet? I sometimes use Dragon Natural Speaking and it helps a lot. The Ablegamers forums (http://www.ablegamers.com/) has a great deal of info for not just gaming but those who have a hard time operating a computer due to their health concerns.

Hello! Voice-typing programs don't work for me because of my randomly-modified spoken accents (American English, Spanish, Tagalog and Chinese). Very often, what the computer thinks I've said, just doesn't come close to what I'm intended on saying. Calibration fails because I am not able to maintain a standard accent when speaking American English (my primary/default language). Thanks for the suggestions.

There are quite a few 40+ year old CR subscribers. Many of them probably don't use the forums or advertise their age (like me). But I'll give you a hint... I first started watching anime back when I ran home from kindergarten each day so I could see Gigantor - in black and white.
