Remember that toytoon from the 80's?

Well, now that the franchise licensor wanted to bring back the property, it's "hip", to appeal to the flash-animated semi-deconstructionist Spongebob crowd. Oh, joy.

It's weird for sure, but not nearly as bad as furries.

GREAT another furry hater.

Funny thing is, people look at anime fans the same way

Never said I hate them. I don't discriminate. I dislike everyone equally

I just find it even more weird is all.

I suppose it depends on the furry. some people just like furry art and stories. others well... then again that's just like anime fans IMO.

I'd agree with that. The only noticeable difference is generally personality. Furries/bronies tend to be more extreme in their hobby as opposed to an anime/cosplayer. Just my observation though.

You only notice the extreme ones. Just like the general public only notices the cosplayers. and also anime has been mainstream for nearly a decade. I remember when furries and anime fans haunted the same fringe corners of sci fi conventions. Frankly I don't think it's any more weird than trying to explain mecha musume to the uninitiated.

I've only dealt with a few personally and they were all quite eccentric compared to anything else I've run into. I'm sure they're not all that way. I've dealt with some weird anime people as well, just not as common to me. Some of the costumes are pretty cool and well done. Other than that, I find it all weird lol.

That's okay there will be people who don't understand the anime you like and think you're weird. weird isn't a bad thing.

It's not nearly as unexpected, or strange as people think.

When I was a kid I loved watching 'Sailor Moon', and so did a ton of other people who were double my age, maybe even more. There are boys today who love playing with Easy Bake Ovens, and Barbie Dolls. There are guys out there who love the color pink, there are girls out there who love the color blue, and play video games.

What bothers people, are our perceptions of what certain genders and ages should enjoy. It's built into us, and when we see someone outside that norm, we consider it 'weird' or 'creepy', when in reality it's not.

I saw the title and the name of the person who created this thread and all I could think of was a horror story involving bronies and the OP lived to tell the tale.

A) Ponies
B) Friendship
C) Magic
D) All of the above
E) Aliens invade earth and destroy every large city on the planet, forcing the surviving humans to hide underground and become mole people who go crazy when they see sunlight. Also, Kenny dies.

Take a guess.

LOL! Actually that's the name of my Youtube show. 'SurvivingHorror' is dedicated to 'Survival Horror' video games.
