Ever heard of Kanon?Never mind that you never watch it,but have you ever heard of it.I think most do,if not all.

Kanon is an anime brought to you by KyoAni,arguably the anime industry's best studio. With top notch animation, good storyline, cute characters, beautiful soundtrack, what else can you ask for?

Kanon is basically about a guy named Yuuichi Aizawa who returns to his aunt's place after a long time. His return will change the lives of almost everyone he met there, and he happened to have share a past with some of the girls there.

Kanon is divided into a few arcs. The first one is the Makoto arc, then Mai,Shiori and finally Ayu.In each arc,Yuuichi plays a vital role in it.He helps them, and in return fragment of memories starts to come back.He begins to remember his past with them.

Kanon is a relaxing anime.Well,it basically has everything, except action,i guess.A good mix of romance, friendship, and humour, you will be drawn more and more to it.Yuuichi learn a lot from the time spent with those girls, and the background song that accompany it make it even better than it is already. Some of the episodes may even left you in tears.

But i would say it is rather dangerous to focus on arc.You see, what happen if you dislike the particular arc? I like all the arcs, but i dont really like Shiori's arc, mainly because i felt that the interaction between her and Yuuichi is the most boring of all. That said, each of the arc has its own issue.

My verdict for this show is:Watch it.You will learn a thing or two more about life.

Followed this before Clannad came out. Character development was good. First time i watched an anime that focuses on characters before closing with the main.

This one was really one of my favorites of all time... I managed to hear about it as soon as I got back into anime...

It's popularity really isn't a surprise, and how everyone kept on referring to Kanon from different anime boards... And as romeo points out, focusing on arcs is walking on a thin line... But it seems to be still well received nonetheless...

For me, the Makoto arc really hit the spot for me. It was really a heart throb, I mean as fantastical as the story maybe, you really felt like someone was tearing someone special away from you. Key really did well in developing the plot, even though it was derived from an adult visual novel, the way they developed it, and the depth and breadth of all the characters is really their winning trait.

They really know how to evoke emotions, and they've been doing this for sometime... So props to them using a really good formula for success (though not satire) over and over again. If everyone in the industry is effected by your methods, than that means you did something right... and by no means are they degrading over the years, Clannad is going strong right now... Air was a success... who knows what they will conjure up in the future?

From my opinion, Kanon is one of the few among good animes that made you fell in love anf felt attached to their characters.
You have to watch it before it got removed. Its storyline is dramatic, romantic, funny and heart warming. In fact's there liitle action scenes, which is exciting. (I agree that Kyoto animation is one of the industry's best studio.)

I'm quited shocked to know that this anime (and its predecesor, Air )is adapted from the Hentai-game (a game with sexual content.).That means in the game you can see Youichi had sex with Ayu,Nayuki,Shiori, Makoto, and Mai. The story is so good that there's no need for sexual content. By the way, I've heard the news that Key studio (The game creator) decided to add sex scenes because of the marketing necessity.(Or else, there will be few people buying it.) Once the series became famous, they make another version with sex scenes cut out.

In fact,Key tried to make a game without sexual stuffs in the case of CLANNAD. However, due to its fan's disappointment, Key studio
decided to make a sequel with sexual stuffs called Tomoyo after. It's quite upsetting when Marketing necessity comes into the scene.

I thought that if they didn't have it so long then it would had been fine.
I got bored a bit after the fox girl's death. . .
It made me cry at some scenes though.
But....
I thought it would had been better if they ended it shortly after that scene.
