Things I Like In Shows
Generally appealing characters
When you can get attached to the characters as well as story. (Unless it's moe where the story is the characters of course)
When characters are unique in their own sense
If the show involves romance, going farther than a kiss at the final episode
A mixture of emotions (As found in Clannad)
Things I Don't Like In Shows
Overload of fanservice
Trying to cheaply shock the viewer
Repetitive (filler) episodes
An uninteresting first few episodes (I'm not one to stop watching a show after not liking the first episode, but if I'm not into it by the 3rd I'm out.)
I usually don't go to recommendations because I've never really needed them but here I am.
I've recently found it harder to find a good show I can really get into. The last 3-4 shows I watched were alright but nothing I thought was amazing. When I started watching anime about a year ago I could easily find a show I liked with only seeing a character in it, which is how I found most of my anime. Sounds stupid, watching a show because of a cute girl but hey, I think we've all done that before. Anyways now I can't seem to find any shows in which I become attached to the characters and story along the way. If you've already clicked my MAL link you're probably thinking there is plenty more anime out there for me to watch that I'll love considering I've only watched about 40 something shows which I know is true, I just need to know how to find them.
Hopefully I didn't jumble up my words here and you can understand it in the slightest.
First off, you should be watching My Love Story, which is on episode 6. It hits a lot of your checkpoints.
Golden Time: Not a perfect show, but it's mostly about a pair of pretty broken college kids trying to make their relationship work, and that's just not something you see very often.
Eureka Seven: Might take too long for you to get into, but the relationship development and the characters are top-notch. Starts out a shounen mecha show, but evolves into a lot more.
Kanon (2006): Very similar to Clannad, and made by the same folks. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and it ends well.
Please Teacher: At times a silly premise, but a good mixture of comedy and drama, and it goes a lot farther than a first kiss (especially if you watch the OVA).
ef: Tale of Memories : The artistry here is top-notch, and the two interwoven love stories are very well told.
Bakemonogatari (and sequel series): Imagine if you took Haruhi Suzimiya, but replaced the time-travelers and espers with monsters, and then added in a little sex and a lot of violence.
Steins; Gate : Awesome characters, and one of the smartest shows you'll run across.
Kotoura-San : First episode is brilliant, and the rest is pretty good. Solid mixture of drama and comedy, good romance at its core, and occasionally hilarious.
Here are a few you might like.
Chihayafuru - A really good high school drama involving friendship and competitive karuta (a 300 hundred year old high speed matching card game using Japanese poetry). This show can range from touching to thrilling to down right hilarious.
Blast of Tempest - Two longtime friends team up with a mage stranded on a island to find out who killed the woman they both loved and to fight a magical conspiracy. Has a couple of interesting love triangles.
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia - Boy helps a ghost investigate her past. Mystery, romance, horror and comedy are all mixed up together.
Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time - One of the best comedies 2014. Also short, each episode is five to eight minutes long.
I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying - Romantic comedy involving a married couple (one is an otoku, the other normal). Episodes are about three minutes long.
Wake Up, Girls! A small entertainment company in Sendai tries to improve its luck by forming an idol group.
Chaika the Coffin Princess
Is the Order a Rabbit?
Non Non Biyori
Sakura Trick (if you don't mind Yuri)
If Her Flag Breaks
World Conquest Zvezda
Chronicles of the Going Home Club
Dusk-maiden of Amnesia
Sunday Without God
The Severing Crime Edge
All seem to fit your likes and seem free of your dislikes .

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is pretty good second season has started. The dialog of Main Character-Hachiman is pretty sharp sometimes I need to watch episode again because he is constantly mumbling comments and jokes but strangely deep and very humorous.
first anime that make me grimace because his comments cut like a knife its brutal honesty bordering on wise cracks
