10 Years From Now, We Will Be Fighting Fish With Lightsabers

Or not. I don't know.

Life was different in 2005, and life will be different in 2025. We're forever changing. You ever take a second to think about the future? Be it positive or negative, we're always moving forward.

What do you think the future will be like, for you personally and for the world.

I think we'll have more technology, and I think I'll be pretty good in 10 years. We'll see.

Edit: It's pretty cliche to be asking about the future I know. But just play along.

There a futurist that say we will have virtual reality in 2018 or somewhere around that time I think. I can't remember his name but apparently he has never been wrong about his predictions. I just want 2 things really. I want virtual reality so I can play has a girl and look like anime character. Second. I want genetically engineer cat girls.

Me.

My sister reaction to this if she knew.

To me, the world feels like it's all going down hill, be it riots, environmental, political, etc. Can't help but feel like there's going to be an epic finale to the shit storm eg. the sun exploding.

By 2025:

- A good percentage of cars will run on Hydrogen like the Toyota Mirai.
- Our phones will be as powerful as high end PC's are today.
- We will still be using plenty of oil, but it'll be relegated to countries that have no choice or plenty of it.
- The U.S. will be waning economically but still technologically ahead in terms of military power.
- VR will be a reality, replacing traditional gaming consoles.
- Anime will be more popular than ever, with Hollywood making tons of adaptations like they do now with Comics.

By 2050:

- Nuclear Fusion will be a reality, if project ITER is a success. Giving us an unlimited source of energy.
- Cybernetics and implants will be common, making smartphones and possibly desktop/laptop PC's obsolete.
- All cars will run on Hydrogen.
- The Middles East will still be a shitty place to live even more so than today.
- The U.S. will be replaced as a super power by some global democratic government (NWO).
- Holodecks will replace TV/VR and we'll be able to play as our favorite anime protagonist. Will mostly be used for hentai.

That's all I got for now

Well how things will be in 10 years will depend on the near future and whether or not people realize that we need to do something about our carbon emissions and quick.

If things continue as they are we'll see large numbers of extinctions and an increase in storm severity on top of global climate change that could result in shifts of animal populations north as they try to remain in the normal temperature range.

Hopefully people start doing what they can instead of waiting for someone else to make the changes for them. Even in the best case scenario we'll still need to do some damage control on the minimal changes in global climate.

Those development teams are going to need to haul it if they want to make hydrogen cars more mainstream. Platinum ain't cheap (it's used in the fuel cell as a conductor) so I'm looking forward to seeing what alternative they come up with.

I see two paths:

-Nuclear warfare and post-apocalyptic future with the population of humankind cut in half, or maybe even a quarter.

-Fairly more advanced with nothing out of the ordinary. Solar or other renewable sources will be efficient enough to be more mainstream. Stem cells will cure many diseases and further limit the effects of aging, though I don't see genetic remodeling or extreme genetic modification, at least in the 10-year outlook. And last but not least, we'll probably be still sitting around watching some good old anime.. and maybe One Piece will be almost over xD.

No idea what to say about what will happen in the future. If virtual reality becomes a thing I'd like that. Playing rpgs in first person sounds awesome!

I'am not sure what the world will be like in 2025. The world may be in a better place then it's in now, or perhaps the world will cease to exist due to some incurable pandemic that turns it into a dystopia.
