Picked up a Vita finally after holding out so long, only because I could not resist. It was 99$ CAD with a game and a memory card. Aside from the old PSN, ports and Persona standbys, I need some recommendations. I'm looking for JRPGs and adventure type games available in physical format. Thanks.

Playstation Plus has so much material for me on Vita that I literally can't keep up. I think that they offered Soul Sacrifice at one point and that one is often regarded as the best native RPG other than Persona 4 Golden. I bought Final Fantasy IV-VI but you'll probably know whether you want those already. Flower and FlOw are great non-games if you like that sort of thing. Luftrausers is a fun little indie action-arcade game.

There are some AAA titles for Vita but I've found them all disappointing: Tearaway, Little Big Planet 2, Gravity Rush, Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Even those games you'll probably see on PS+ at one point, so I'd recommend spending nothing on individual games unless there's definitely something you must have.

PS Vita is great by the way: really good choice. I play my 3DS more but the Vita is a lovely piece of tech and it does seem to get ports of all the highly rated PC indie games, so that's where I've got Hotline Miami, Spelunky, Rogue Legacy, Fez, Terraria, Guacamelee! etc. etc.

I just ordered Steins;Gate today.

Thanks for the responses!

I had Plus at some point but didn't much that I would like on the PS3 that I dont't already have or own in some form or another. I'll go check it out for PSV goodness.

Tales of Hearts is something definitely I'm looking forward to! Finally getting around to playing FF9 after passing on it so many times. Never owned or played it ever.

I have FF IV-VI think for the DS and PSP (its one of those). I have to agree the screen is awesome. Not yet used to the interface though!

There's also the Neptunia series, DRPGs like Demon Gaze, Operation Abyss (June 9th) and Dungeon Traveler's 2 (release TBA I think), hunting games like toukiden and freedom war.

You can buy some mega man x games off the ps1 classics list and God eater burst (GE2 is inevitable). Muramasa rebirth and ToHR are good to buy too though.

Hatsune Miku project diva f and f 2nd are great rhythm titles.

Killzone mercenary is a good/decent shooter.

I ended up with Danganronpa 2 and Mind Zero for now. Any feedback on those games to anyone who's played? The box looks similar to 999 and Zero Escape so I thougjt it might be interesting...

Cannot find ToH anywhere but online!!

Seriously, get Tales of Hearts R, and the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. They're golden. Don't hesitate to get Akiba's Trip and Senran Kagura.

So I started off with Danganronpa 2, hopefully it won't bite me that I didn't start with the first instalment. *shrug* I haven't read up on this series nor have seen any previews so I'm going into this blind, with just the awesome colourful box art to convince me that this is a 45$ game.

Okay so the game... really long intro. Looks likes a VN... lots of reading. I haven't gone far ahead but yeah, give me a day or two to get back with some thoughts.

I was curious with the functionality of the back touch screen (like, really?). How are your experiences with that functionality? The use in Tearaway was kinda hokey (poke little goonies to oblivion) and I thought the front touch screen would've done a better and more accurate job.

DR2 will totally spoil the first game for you. Like, literally the start of DR2 will spoil the first game.
Also Freedom Wars is a good monster hunting game. Although it's more PVP based. But that's what makes it unique & worth trying.

Hello all, so I'm currently chapter 4 in Daganronpa 1.

Yes I started with DR2 but it's annoying me to no end that I'm starting with the second instalment and rightly felt that I was missing out chunks of the story so I postponed DR2, then combed through every EB in my area and got DR1. Yay. My life is complete. Argh. OCD
much?

Anyway, so onward. DR1 impressions. I'm not a big fan of some of the gameplay. I get that there's a need for it to mix up the monotony in a VN but I find the controls a bit shabby and delayed at times--which kinda loses the point as there is a rhythm mini-game. That's the only rant I could see. So far everything has been fun and exciting and I admit that this is hard.to.put.down once you get past the introduction and the explanations on how things are (basic in most games, I find).

I have Freedom Wars and MH3. Will get into those soon. There was a flash sale and they were 5$ on PSN. I'll look over the other recs. Thanks a bunch.

Surprisingly never owned a Disgaea game, how is it? Does it play like Tactics Ogre? Thanks for the responses.

So you get free games on PS+ as well as discounts? I've noticed a few games I've bought/thought about buying had discounts on them, didn't realise you got free games as well. Probably worth getting a subscription for all the extras you get, never really thought about it until I read your post, just assumed it was for mainly for adding multi-player online. Only had the Vita for a few months and haven't really explored the rest of it yet!

You get free games for PS4, PS3 and Vita every motherloving month. (The four games for PS Vita this month in Europe are Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan and Murasaki Bab and Race The Sun). You need to log in and add them to your library before the month is up, and as long as you continue your PS+ membership you get to keep them, whether or not you ever download them to your system. It is astonishing value for money, because even if you only love one game in the entire year then it pays for your membership. There's a complete list of past games at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Instant_Game_Collection_games_(PAL_region).
