Let me help you! Its like a step meter, every time you make an action on the site it deems worthy of 2 points, (or whatev. no disrespect to who take it serious) It looks like you're loyal and longstanding with the business, or something . It just records when you post , edit your profile, write in someone's gb, watch simulcasts, finish a series, etc etc. Its like free bling bling without the cash-ing.

- CR points
- http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-900539/cr-points

They had more meaning back when Crunchyroll was first founded, but they are mostly meaningless at this point. Basically they note your participation in the site (mainly the forums). You pick up some points for being a paid member as well.

Here's what they use to mean... most of these don't apply anymore:

Here's a breakdown:

What's a cr point?
You get crunchy points for being social on Crunchyroll! It's a measure of how involved you are in the community.

Here's what you earn:
2 points for each forum post, guestbook post, or video comment
1 point for voting in a poll
3 points for having a verified email
5 points for having an avatar
5 points for completing your profile (bday, loc, headline...)
2 points for each photo in your gallery
20 points for uploading a video (and it gets approved)
10 points for submitting a crunchyland design (and it gets approved)
200 points for creating an original subtitle on Crunchyroll (and it gets approved)
75 points for translating or working off an existing subtitle on Crunchyroll (and it gets approved)
20 points for uploading a subtitle file (and it gets approved)
1000 points for each month of Premium Membership purchased
Here's what you can do:
if you have 20 points, you can search for cr users
if you have 500 points, you can start a new forum topic

I've moved this to the Site Support / Minor Questions forum. The most recent list of what you get CR points for and what they are good for is in /forumtopic-806747/quick-answers-for-common-questions

It does seem that needing points to start threads in the forums is only for free users, since I've definitely seen premium users doing so without having 500 points.
