What is the least physically painful way to die?
Posted 5/16/15

I want to say , depending on the poison, poison, but that also , again depending on the poison, may be potentially the most agonizing and lengthy process (meaning it could take a while). Some wouldn't say immolation because burning is excruciatingly painful, but can be quick, and once the nerves are sufficently damaged and/or the person goes into shock, no pain is felt.Electrocution is quick but obviously not painless at all.Drowning , definitely not quick or painless.Exsanguination causes severe anxiety when enough blood is lost.

What do you think? Discuss. What are the least physically painful ways to die?

Carbon monoxide alarms are required for a reason

Anyhow, this is quite the macabre topic... What brought this about?

Nothing sinister, just curiosity.

I know there was nothing sinister about the question. If it was sinister the question would have been more along the line of what's the most painful way to die...

Good, doesn't sound like you're depressed or anything.

Various gases will cause a person to suffocate but won't cause any pain or panic. The person falls unconscious in a short time, and provided that they don't get oxygen within a period of time, they die. So far as I've ever heard, it causes absolutely no pain or panic.

I would say drowning. When I was a kid I almost drowned, and from what I remember, even if you can't breath you don't feel anything. I would explain it but I was slipping under an can't remember. It was one of the weirdest feelings i've ever experienced but not painful at all.

Wouldn't know, as im here typing on your thread currently.

This does remind me of a time one of my friends brought a book to school one time on the worst forms of torture. Wish I could remember what that book was called.

An overdose of insulin is the suicide choice of health care professionals. Makes me afraid for every depressed person who also happens to have diabetes.

if you just hit yourself, or shoot the part of your head that is at the back near the neck(forgot what the part is called) it will completely paralyze your body and depending on how strong the blow was will either cause death or make you unconscious. Its used a lot as a way to disable someone in martial arts, but can be deadly at the same time.

People who say a Gunshot to the head is quick, you can actually survive that and it will feel some what painful, but not as painful as a paper cut, because your body is releasing endorphins to stop the pain, and is a way for you to run in a situation of fight or flight. It was discovered when a person who worked in the mines set off dynamite, and a metal bar went straight though his head, and he didn't feel much pain, but didn't die.

Helium. Human bodies don't have the necessary triggers to warn our brain that something is up so you just slip into deep sleep and die.
