any vendor that offers "cloud" service as a part of their hard drive.

for example the WD My Cloud series, or the Seagate Global Access.

Not looking for cloud . Just a hard drive I can hook up to my network and use from anywhere.

I've been using a Western Digital "My Book Live" personal cloud storage drive for the past two years, and it works great. Just plug it into an available LAN port on your router, login to set some preferences, and you're good to go. There's also a WD2go app that allows you to access the drive from a smart phone.

There are a lot of other drives like this available from different manufacturers.

Don't know where you're from, but in the states, check out your local Staples, Office Max, or Office Depot and look for sales.
