so I like role-playing games and my favourite class to play has always been the paladin, a noble soul going out to purge evil and do naught but good. they sacrifice their own well being for the good of others.

they purge corruption and bashes evil, but they do not kill unless necessary, they let even the most vile villain stand in front of the law and be judged for their crimes against god and his creations.

From a purely game play perspective they usually wield a hammer sometimes with a shield and use healing and buffing to support their allies and help whoever needs it. their healing spells can sometimes even work as offensive due to the nature of undead and other demonic fiends.

I am looking for a game with paladins, the more they fit the description the better, I have already played.

FFXIV
FFIV
The elder scrolls
Dragons dogma
Diablo 2
vindictus

as you might be able to tell from this list they dont have to fit my description of a paladin perfectly, ill be happy with just a guy smashing skeletons with a hammer really. The more it fits the better though.

Diablo 3 : Reaper of souls , has a crusader that seems very much like a paladin uses shield - hammers/maces \\ spells and such

Rift: would have to have this class for sure and it's free

Chivalry medieval warfare: first person combat mp game - shields and hammers available

Dark souls 2: shields , hammers, healing, quest for vengeance/kill everything

Fable : can choose to be good or evil 1-2-3

Dark messiah: sword and shield - has a kick where you can send foes flying into spikes to be impaled, magic and dismemberment system

∟ That's all I can be stuffed to think about pal, hope you like one of them I had to check my library and think for a while.

If you can deal with a game that's slightly older and not a JRPG go grab Neverwinter nights diamond edition from Good old games. There are a lot of modules you can get that focus on playing Paladins. There's one really good one that has you fall from grace and have to earn your paladin status back.

Also if you want to read a decent book about a paladin read the Sheepfarmers daughter by Elizabeth Moon.

Oh how I've forgotten about neverwinter nights, I still remember being at a gaming cafe - that game and it's top down view, the items you click on and moving around, the atmosphere, that quick session got me set into RPGS for a long time

Paladins, the bane of my existence. I could have a 12 minute Castle-Age and a constant stream of units only for it all to be immediately crushed by a massive blob of 300+ paladins and 20+ capped rams. I hate hardest AI...

Gonna go ahead and be that guy that suggests WoW, but paladins on that can be anything from flying around with a 2 hander bashing faces in, to sitting in a corner throwing bubbles and heals at people lol

Guild Wars 2. Although they are labeled as Guardians in that game. They can buff, heal, deal dmg or be tanky if needed. They're pretty similar to the WoW version, but unlike WoW you won't see them playing as "only a healer or tank" and instead acting like a normal pally should.

There are paladin-like characters to make in Dark Souls. You just have to get a little creative. Definitely recommend that.
