Has there ever been an ending to a show, game, or book, where once it ended, you found yourself in a state where you wanted it to continue, and felt the ending left some sort of hole in your mind. I've experienced this three times, twice with the ending of Gurren Lagann, and then again with Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhoods ending. I found myself just sitting there, unsure of what to watch next, so satisfied with the ending, but wanting it to continue. On all three occasions I just went to bed, accepting that as the only option.

Am I the only one this happens to, or has any else had an instance where the ending of something stuck with you?

Ya definitely. The biggest voids I've ever felt was the endings of Gurren Lagann and Eureka 7. I literally didn't watch any anime for like a week after I finished each one.

All the time.. the last time I got this was recently when HxH ended.. and we all know togashi is never going to finish the manga so thats the end for the anime.

Always happens to me. The short 1 season ones are the worst for that feeling because you just know no matter how amazing it was that it was made 2-5 years ago and the chance of a second season is low

That's exactly how I feel too plus I try to find a similar anime usually I'm let down but on occasion I've actually found some I enjoy more

sometimes they do come back after 2 years for instance SNAFU and that came back. I think it took a year

True. Chances are usually they won't come back though. That doesn't mean it's 0% more around 1-30% (to me) depending on it's popularity and sellings. No Game No Life for instance will probably get a second season soon as the creator put in a twitter post he had rewritten the 7th novel 5 times and was now fine tuning it. Don't quote me on that though. The point is more so that there probably won't be a new season of an anime you watch that's from over 2 years ago. Doesn't mean the chances are 0 though. Like your example SNAFU came back! Gintama did too this season

Of course. Pretty much every season I get a case of PADS(Post-Anime Depression Syndrome), when my favorite shows of that season end.

This happened to me few times but probably the most significant was when freaking Gintama ended, twice. When the first season ended, I was feeling empty for few weeks. But it was worse in the second season ending(I combined the Gintama' and the Enchousen) because they really said that this would be the very last season of the series... And then it came back once again.

Almost any based on a light novel or Manga, since those usually are made while the story is still being written. Worst offenders being:

Saekano
attack on Titan
Guin Saga.
