What subjects do you wish were removed from schools and replaced?

And replaced with what, and why?

If I had a choice, I would remove Art class and replace it with Archery or Kendo.

Archery/kendo would be considered a PE class, it doesn't make sense to replace it with art.

I don't think school should remove any classes. Providing a variety of subjects is good for everyone. My school had a lot of v ariety of classes. Music wasn't just music, it was guitar, drum, violin. PE wasn't just PE....it was yoga, swimming, skateboarding, roller blading, handball....etc. The student body was able to choose what they wanted.

My school has Archery in Jr High and used to in High school, until someone stole the Bows and Arrows. But, it was a unit in PE, not stand alone. I agree that schools should have a wide variety of subjects so, if anything, we should add classes and keep the current ones also.

If you need Kendo and Archery, then that sounds more of an after school sports program, not an actual class in my opinion.

My school didn't have any variety of classes.

Get rid of language classes. What's the point if hardly anyone's going to learn them to a reasonable extent even after years of it? The vast majority of people also forget them quickly after their school days, even more completely than math.

Fucking extend the goddamn budget for fucking schools. Cut out the dumb politicians meddling in the shit and give the teachers more power to teach there students. Cut out standardized test and restructure the schools to nurture talents and skills in kids rather than producing more fucking carbon copy workers.

Physical 'Education' is a joke nowadays. I think they should just make major improvements to that class.

Add personal finances plz. Kids need to understand what they're doing before getting tons of student loan debt.

I think that some of the better schools work with the local community collage and have programs where High School grads are also walking out the door with an Associates Degree or certification in a trade at graduation.

Remove the requirement for English classes, not every one can just shit out ten 600 word essays on subjects that they could not care less about if they tried. And requiring students to understand some of the most outlandish bits and pieces of math just "because you should know it." If the vast majority of people are not going to need to know it in whatever job they go on to have in life, then what's the fucking point? So they can teach students how to do it if they become a teacher? It's just a big fucking Circle-Jerk!

This is really just me venting.

And more art & technology based classes, I guess to round the post off.

I live in Louisiana, and our only foreign languages that we have is Latin, Spanish, and French. If they could add Korean, Japanese, and Italian, then it's a mass improvement. Other than that, I would wait for college.

Remove nothing but maybe not require you to take certain classes. I really don't need 4 literature courses, and you could easily fit all their criteria in 1-2 classes. I would also make PE/Health optional unless there is a real reform of the class, because it's a joke in whatever school I go to. The schedule space I could save could allow me to take classes that I want to do and will actually help me.

Education needs to be improved, as far as I know, in America.
Like, REAL badly.
