Can a person actually survive an actively operating mechanical car wash without injuries while wearing no clothing or protective gear?

(Assume basic cycle with air blower and no hot wax)

Has anyone wondered about the same sorta things while sitting in a car going through a car wash, as in "I wonder what would happen to me if I'm OUT THERE"?

Other than getting smacked around I don't see how you wouldn't survive. The ones I've been to certainly wouldn't kill you. You'd have some marks on you afterwards though. Then again, it's probably no worse than some BDSM.

Personally, I'd be thinking of at least wearing a "cup" but I'm a guy and I think of those things... Those brushes do spin at a good clip...

I wouldn't want to try a "Brushless" car-wash.... That'd be a little too much like a fire hose at close range...

I saw a video where a guy held on to the roof of a car while it drove through the wash. Might have been Jackass, it was years ago so I don't really remember

Just the basic cycle? Angle your head and shield your nose/mouth enough to breath and you should be fine, probably. Albeit perhaps a bit singed; I'm not sure how hot the water typically is. I'd think it'd be the wax that'd really mess you up if it were used. Pretty sure the agitators wouldn't try to crush you or anything, I don't think they've even got enough range of movement to do it in most car washes I've seen.

Hmm.. now I kind of want to see someone invent a shower that takes care of all the soaping, scrubbing, rinsing and drying for you. It appeals to my inner sloth.

Getting whipped by a machine while covered in soap. Sounds JUST AMAZING!

I had some really in-grained stains on my car when I sent it through a wash, including a nasty one on the lower front bumper when I ran over someone's tire blowout... I figure if the wash can get something like that out it could seriously bloody someone up.

If you dodge well and aren't unlucky, you probably won't die. I'm going to say that you'll probably be injured but I don't know much about automated car washes even though I've been in many vehicles that were being washed.

And imagine those rubber things whipping you in the face or the crotch. Seems painful.

I still stand by my "you'll be fine, probably" statement.

Even had he gone through alone and not on the hood of a car, I don't think he'd have been hurt. As I said, most scrubbers I've seen don't appear to have the range of motion they'd need to actually pose much danger of crushing you or anything like that. Since you're far smaller than a car you may even be able to pass through the middle or crawl below entirely untouched by them.

I suppose most washes don't use incredibly hot water either - all it would take is one idiot going through the wash with their sunroof or windows open, getting scalded and suing them.

How about the ones where a bunch of women smother the car with sponges and boobs?

More likely to die and go to heaven after that than be killed by the other
