So as said, I am going to make it a bit easier to use the video player, I made this for myself and you can see the code if you open it with notepad, that being said let's get started!

First things first, download unified remote here:
https://www.unifiedremote.com/

This will allow you to move your computer using your phone and it has other neat things like mouse navigation, it's a lot to cover so please review some tutorials before getting started, however if you are familiar with the software, move onto the next step:

http://localhost:9510/web/

-> Settings
-> Remotes
-> Local Path

Okay so pick one of these folders or add your own, I recommend to add your own folder, something like
C:\Remotes
so it's easy to find and you won't lose this remote / future remotes!

Now simple as pie, download the attachment here:
https://www.mediafire.com/?8vzt7jmrds7i3c8

and put that in your local remotes folder you decided to use, restart your unifiedremote, refresh the remotes on the phone with the arrow pointing to its tail and wallah! you now have a crunchy remote you can use to make watching anime easier!

No idea how popular this forum is or if anyone will ever see this but, I made this for myself and if it helps someone else, then huzzah!

Edit:
I don't have a mac or linux so I don't know how well it works on those two but if issue arise feel free to let me know and I can modify it to support those too but I believe it should work natively

Double Edit:
I'll put a video later if people need more help

Good tips. I just use a wireless mouse and it tends to get the job done as well. I love having my computer hooked up to my big screen.

Well it's cheaper than a wireless mouse/keyboard.

...but I already have a wireless mouse and keyboard.

Most of the time I just use a Roku and leave the PC out of the equation entirely, because that/s just a kluge anyway, and it ties up resources on your PC that can be used for other things, like browsing the forums and maintaining your queue (or in my case, getting some work done).

You can also use Apple TV, PS3/4 XBox 360/One, Chromecast, etc. For the few times I still need to use a PC to stream something (not on CR or other device-provided channels, such as with Daisuki), I just use Splashtop (remote desktop). There's a free (personal use) server to install on the PC connected to the TV, and then apps that run on phones, Kindles, even from other PCs that connect and control the connected one. There's even a wake-up function that can remotely turn on a completely shut-down PC for when you are too lazy (like me) to get up and push the button.

@everyone else: I have a wireless mouse/keyboard, it's more convenient to just press 2 buttons on your phone than to try to ninja snipe the video player scrubber. Also this has a wake on lan function too, try it out before you knock it out of the park :)

As said, you can read the code directly with notepad.
