more complicated than it seems. A dictatorship only really implies keeping power through force. If you are the only sane person in a crazy land then you might think using force to impose rational practices or fewer crimes/killings just. I can't think of a "nice" dictator because of the kind of person you have to be to get there. They could have at least in theory a decent and kind side.

So would it be possible to fall in love with one, sure, but marry probably not because it's impossible to keep the peace forever in a land of imposed rule even if you were only repressing cruelty. Those types of societies have to undergo societal change in order to improve. So to me country stability would be the same as relationship stability in this scenario.

man!!! blue shield you got some good comments

yes its implied that a dictatorship is bad cuz all the good dictators don't label themselves dictators. must be a hard job considering you control EVERYTHING though. like could you imagine how hard religious or homosexuality debates must be, i mean you cant cut that $hit down the middle.

Maybe, if the country was so screwed up to the point where people where left to die on the sides of the road, but now they have basic necessities, higher standard of living, and rights then maybe. As awful as this sounds, there have been some countries when they have the right to vote they vote for a religious majority leader and they give the population free reign to suppress and kill minorities. (Looking at you Egypt)

no choice
But I'm totally assassinating them.

No, i just want a regular normal guy.

I don't think dictators have a sense of humour or humbleness... two traits which i find attractive in a person.

haha thanks. Morality must be about perception after all, but I tend to side with the moral perception that it's not moral to interfere with anyone so long as they aren't interfering with someone else. It's about personal narrative and everyone has a right to their own story and to live as they want so long as that life doesn't inhibit or harm someone else. Logic and morality to an extent can be synonomous. So for me, if I was the dictator I wouldn't be afraid to impose the version of morales I have on everyone since it would basically only inhibit them from harming or unjustly controlling others.

Religion whether based upon a higher true or just some dillusion doesn't really matter so long as it gives someone hope that they otherwise wouldn't have so from that perspective I'd allow freedom of religion as long as it followed my one basic all encompassing rule. Homosexuality is a non-starter for me because right from the get-go you're trying to restraint someone else's freedom or to label them as deserving of less of something, be it rights, or power. To be fair, religioius organizations don't have as many minority groups to pick on as they used to, you can't just blandly label people heathen and put them to the sword and take their lands, women, and personal belongings while establishing a political power base. The few groups we have left we can label have to exist outside the country or inside the country without sufficient numbers to protect themselves via a voting block or the sympathy of the masses, aka a vote by sympathetic proxy. They have to establish a successful "us" and "them" construct in the public mentality.

Anyway, I've been long winded enough on a side issue to the main question.

Depends on the size of their dictator.

they say a lot of dictators used to be doctors lol

question;
> if you were a doctor, would you save a patient who's a dictator or kill him?

Don't judge a book by its cover. Who knows, the dictator might actually be a great person.

Well, I do like a guy who is dominant. But a dictator would probably just take it too far or something, like a sadist.
