Tá Éire go hiontach, agus tá na Éireannaigh go hiontach. Níl ionam ach Meiriceánach, ach is aoibhinn liom an bhreith seo.

Still not terribly far along, but it seemed fitting for the occasion. Probably made some mistakes. Basically saying that Ireland, and the people therein, is great, and though I am an American I am happy about this.

i don't get it, why do people choose to look at homosexuality in the bible and say "oh that's bad and anyone who does that is evil" yet at the same time they ignore the story of Adam and eve and the great story of incest to max and say incest is bad. BTW: im just making a point im not religious or into incest.

The so-called 'catholic" countries like Ireland, Scotland, Spain , etc are some of the friendliest countries in Europe that you can visit. It was only natural that this occured, and that other countries surrounding it have done the same.

BRAVO IRELAND!!! Good to see. But the real battle will come when they try to pass the law through parliament. Last year the Australian Capital Territory - which is the state that Australia's capital Canberra is in -passed a vote to allow gay marriage in that state. On the first day that the law was enacted 14 couples were legally married and there were another 30 or so set for the first week (Canberra has a population of only 400,00ish). The day it was enacted, the Federal government - headed by Tony Dickhead Abbot (who has a gay sister in a long-term relationship!) took it to the High Court, saying it was unconstitutional, in that marriage law could only be enacted by Federal government. He & his cronies won, all those couples had their marriages declared unlawful, and the National Capital of Australia returned to the Dark Ages with the rest of us!
So, even though a majority of sensible, just & compassionate people in some societies may support this type of change, you can always rely on some hater with power & a following of sycophants to come in and shit on everyones wishes & aspirations. I applaud anyone who makes an effort to change these archaic laws, and give them my full support & best wishes, but I cant get too excited because I know what battles have to be won to make gay rights a solid, lasting reality!!

More than 62% voted in favour of amending the country's constitution to allow gay and lesbian couples to marry.
It is the first country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage through a popular vote.

Meanwhile the followers of Fox News are condemning the nation to hell

Wow, I actually thought it was a bigger majority, but still, good on ya Ireland And of course all of the Fox News worshipers are attacking
-_-' According to most of the stuff people are "going to hell" for, I have 100 tickets to there just for myself. This is why it's going to take a LONG time for the U.S. to reach 100% legal gay marriage

Someone probably told you this, but this is the national Fox News channel that's biased. My local Fox News is really good too, but that's not the same thing, weirdly enough.

99% of the time when people say "Fox News" they are referring to the 24/7 National cable news channel. It's very different from "local news affiliates" like say "Fox 13" which are managed by different people.

As for why there's endless hate for the channel. It's easy enough to find out why when you study up on it.

Good for them. Another country stepping into modernization. Regardless of how one personally feels on the matter (because quite frankly, it doesn't matter and no one gives a shit) no one should be against any person wanting equal rights.
