with the recent cancellation of Silent Hills im not sure Konami has any plans for Silent Hill. at least for right now. i was really looking forward to the game too. but with the failures that were Homecoming and Downpour, can the franchise be saved. P.T. showed that it doesn't take much to make an interesting game. even in current gaming generation we are in today. so id like your thoughts as to what Konami should do with the franchise

A lot of people think Konami will just stop making games all together after the latest Metal Gear is released. I think it's because of the fact that Kojima is leaving.
So, if that's true, probably not.

Some people also think he might do Kickstater for spiritual successor like Mighty Number 9 is for Megaman and Bloodstained is for Castlevania: Symphony of the night. Del Toro has said he's still interested in working with Kojima.

I heard they are just doing good enough already with this game they have in Japan that's basically like gambling & selling the YGO cards

Pretty sure that Konami came out with a statement lately saying that they're putting most of their investments into Pachinko and mobile games. The only way I can see Silent Hills ever make a return is if they sell the rights to another company or something. It's a real shame!

What I would like to see is for Konami to do the same thing that Square is supposedly doing with their non Final Fantasy franchises where they are opening them up to development by smaller developers. I think Silent Hill could be the perfect property to be used by a variety of smaller developers since the core of the experience doesn't really rely on having a big budget or even specific storyline continuation from game to game. Let the newer and hungrier developers out there have at it if you're not going to be doing anything but making SH Pachinko machines with it yourself. Of course, I really don't see this as being an actual possibility as it would require Konami to actually still care about their IP and I really don't feel like they do.

It's half true.
They're going to stop making good games. (AAA games)
They're focusing on gambling machines and micro transaction based mobile games since those make far more money for the company.
Pretty depressing, really, they even took Kojima's name off the credits to Phantom Pain.

Even if they released a other silent hill I wouldn't buy it. Konami messed up big time by forcing Kojima to only work on Metal Gear and not letting him pursue the type of games he wanted to make.

No way is Silent Hills a thing now. Although I'm sure Kojima's gonna get picked up by some stuido, Konami still owns the IP, and as Jim Fucking Sterling Son put it, "Konami don't know how to business"

I'm more bothered by the fact we never had a third "Zone of the Enders" than the cancelation of the most recent SH project. Not that I don't like this franchise, it was great while it lasted.
