I live in the middle of the U.S. I'm in no immediate danger to attack. But I would start hoarding some ammo.

Oh, I invested in a failsafe for this sort of scenario back in the 80s. See, there was this brilliant pastor who had an idea to build a highly fortified, fifty story statue of himself equipped with lasers and rocket engines. It was to be able to deflect alpha, gamma, and beta radiation, contain provisions sufficient to sustain an independent community for 40,000 years, and equipment to terraform Saturn.

It should be done any day now, so no matter which country we're talking about all you'd need to do is hop on a plane and head for the statue. That is, provided you were a donor.

Join or form a Resistance movement. It's a proven method where even civilians can make a difference. Sporadic guerrilla style attacks, until the enemy realizes that it's not worth the effort and leaves with their tails between their legs, or at the very least just really piss them off. It's better than doing nothing anyway

I give you props for being realistic but on the other side of things people generally do things they think they couldn't to protect the ones they care about. While you may live in a place where there wouldn't be to many enemies best bet you only have to deal with scouts.
Take it from me if you think your life is in danger you be surprise at what you could do. "I mean at escaping"
For you second answer while you may have no training and i'm assuming many people here have no formal training in firearms or martial arts just having a gun makes you better off than the guy who doesn't. "protecting yourself, hunting" as for fighting close up knifes and machetes help even the odds even if your not an expert.

Just my opinion

In Norway we aren't allowed to carry guns around unless we are cops and such :P
We need a license to be allowed to use guns, but even with a license we aren't allowed to carry a gun in our pockets or anywhere else in public. We have gun controll so.
I'll let the army do the shooting.

Imagine this

You wake up one morning to the sound of Alarms throughout your town/city, and you tune into the TV, on the TV all the major news stations are reporting that you're country has been invaded, and its military has been defeated.

You see battalions of soldiers headed toward your town/city, from here on you make a decision.

What would you do?

Why would you do it?

How would you do it?

This reminds me a lot of he movie Red Dawn, so let's think...

I can say right now that if they manage to conquer San Diego (where I currently live), which is one of the largest military cities in the U.S., there is no way we can win. Depending on the invader, I would consider these options:

1) Flee to the Mexican border, where I'd find a way to escape to somewhere safer. (I'd most likely do this)

2) Merely go about my life as I did before, if the invaders guaranteed our rights and allowed us to manage ourselves as a territory subordinate to them (which is a common agreement when dealing with a more civilized, imperialist power or empire)

3) If this was like World War II and this force needed to be stopped or else risk world domination under an insane leader, I'd either join a guerrilla force or flee to another country and join their military to prevent the insurgence. I'm 18, so this would be no problem, even if my physical strength is only average.

This is more or my answer to surviving an invasion, really, and it depended on the circumstances. Since I live in San Diego, these options are rather easy to follow through with realistically and however I needed to do them, I'd find a way.

My country was invaded once, during WW2. I guess the same thing would play out as it did then. (Resistance forces going around sabotaging vital enemy positions, fleeing abroad to enlist and come back to fight). I would be a part of the resistance, or die in the process

Wow am I glad for second amendment down here for the states. In the town where I was born population 2700 I want to say almost 80% of the town carried. When I was in jr high it wasn't uncommon to see teens have rifles in their trucks or people open carry. For the teens having rifles just your basic 22 "killing rattlesnakes for every 1 pound of rattlesnake you turned in to the school they would pay you $10 please note this was in 1995 not a bad way to make money at the time"
As for gun violence we didn't have a murder with a gun since 1998 the last murder the town had was in 2013 ironic it was a guy with a knife killing his ex. One thing we have going for the town is one mile down the road we have a border patrol base that on a average day more than 100 guys pass through. If anything every happen the border patrol are our first line of defense since the town only employs 4 policemen. It wasn't uncommon to see border patrol and locals work together to keep checkpoints clear. So yeah I grew up with guns and if anything happened I made enough friends with the border guys to want to help them out. Although to be fair I now live about a good 400 miles from the town but I try to visit my folks at least once a month.

Negotiate for terms and hope the invading force has national health.I'm not mobile enough to make much use of my substantial available firepower.

In this corner, weighing in at an estimated 280,000 active duty personnel and a budget of 11.6 billion US dollars, Mexico! Boasting a navy composed largely of assets purchased from either the US or Israel, reliant upon the support of a number of allies whose support for the US is far stronger for various reasons, and completely lacking a nuclear arsenal, Mexico is definitely the underdog in this fight. It's a David vs. Goliath story here, folks, and you don't want to mi---

And Mexico City has been captured, ladies and gentlemen. We'll have to check to see if this is a new record time.

I've read so many articles about guns and killings in the state. You guys should have gun controll :P
One article was about how a 2 year old had gotten her hands on her mother's revolver, while they were at a store. The 2 year old shot her mother, the mother died.

Only times when someone gets murdered in Norway because of guns, is when sick shits like Breivik gets them illegally, or other people gets the illegally.
There's not a lot of murderer cases in this country fortunatly. There would definitly be more of we were allowed to carry guns.

I'd load my gun and try to go get souvenir's and better guns from the visitors. Everyone talking about US not being prepared is wrong, is yearly exercises done to prepare for types of shit like this even chemical and nuclear warfare.. and is lots more troops stateside than they seem to believe too...

While I kind of agree with you, in the US most of the criminals do get their guns illegally(imported via South America and so on), so one of the biggest reasons they do not want a stricter gun control is because then the criminals would have all the power(guns). It's not the people who buy their guns at a legit gun store that goes around killing others.
