So for the last few days I've been having a substantial amount of difficulty keeping CR playing through my Roku 2 HD. Tried different series (but mostly Fate:UBW and Grisaia), and they will play for a few seconds to a couple of minutes, but get very choppy (play a few seconds and then freeze), then it finally gives up and errors out. It occasionally plays an episode through, but it takes several tries. I have no such problems using the same Roku to play 1080 Netflix content with no stuttering or noticeable delays.

I am also having this same trouble, with the addition of an occasional playback loop, where the roku will play the same 10 to 15 second loop over and over, buffering for several seconds between loops. I have found that if I start a video, let it play a few seconds then immediately pause it, leave it paused for about 4 to 5 minutes it will no do this. this also seems to work if the video has been playing fine then starts acting up.

Netflix and Funi do not have the same problem, I have 2 rokus both will only do this with Crunchyroll content.

I've been having problems with Crunchyroll on my Roku 2 for a long time now. I've practically given up watching it on there, because they can't seem to fix things. And other Roku channels like Netflix play fine for me, too. It's only Crunchyroll with these issues. I wish they'd fix it, but after all this time without a solution, I'm not betting on it.

I have been having the same issue on my roku 3. Everything else plays fine but crunchyrolll keeps saying it gets interrupted and then I have to go back in and play the episode again often times having to even find my exact spot again or having to resume and rewatch parts i've already seen. It is very very annoying often times happening once or even twice per episode. Rarely do I get to go through an entire episode without it happening.

I'm having also this problem on my Roku 1. I was on premium Feb. and Mar. with no problems, started back up in Aug. and suddenly I get constant playback interruptions, anywhere from 1 - 5 times a video. Start the video back up and it continues off ~ 30s-1m before the interruption.

No problems on CR iOS app, no problems on Roku Netflix, nor Plex so it's not the connection or local network. I've reset the device multiple times, removed the CR channel and re-added it, deactivated my device on my account then reactivated it. No change. So it must be something between CR and their Roku app.

Support was comically useless. They didn't really read my initial email, I had to restate it was a Roku and not a browser issue and received a canned Roku troubleshooting instructions response. I followed the instructions to no avail, literally asking if there was anything else to try aaaand... received the *exact* same canned response.

I had no interruptions just the other day thinking it was fixed but nope, a fluke. Right back to it the next day.
Clearly I'm not the only one with this problem but judging by other posts in this forum there's really no support for this thing.

Unlike the website Flash streams, the iOS and Roku streams come from the same content delivery network. The only difference I can think of is that AFAIK, the iOS app tops out at 720p, while I believe the Roku goes up to 1080p.

Hmm, I'd think the interruptions would be even more frequent and consistent if it were due to a more demanding 1080p stream. The interruptions are completely random though; I can get one right when I start a show, then get it right after I restart the video, or I can be fine and get one toward the end of a show, and I even get them while paused... Also I believe I receive 1080p on the Roku Netflix app without issue, not sure due to their adaptive streaming but it does look like it.

Checked modem logs, no events during watching. Not sure what happened between Apr. till now but suddenly went from no interruptions to being plagued by them.

Do you use the Roku and have no problems?

While I primarily view CR on my PC (attached to my HDTV) so that I can review the comments after each episode, I do occasionally view episodes on my Roku, and experience no issues. In the interest of full disclosure, however, I do use a Roku 3 connected via Ethernet.

Have you check your router logs to see if the device has been kicked from the network since I've had intermittent issues with the playback interrupted message coming up for no apparent reason and thought that it was an issue outside of the local network, but after one error message a little while ago I decided to check the router logs and found an entry for a failed log in with the MAC address pointing to the roku device with the date and time being around that when I got the playback interrupted message and since I've never had any issues with any of the other streaming apps I use on it I came to the conclusion that the crunchyroll app on the roku is a lot more sensitive to these sudden drops then the other apps but it doesn't excuse the fact that it is happening and nothing is being done to fix it.

I would like to know a way to go about fixing this. I have the issue on my desktop, laptop, tablet and my phone. I feel like I have to just wait until later and maybe get lucky to even be able to watch it.

I've been having this same problem for the last 2 or 3 weeks roughly as well. It doesn't matter if I am watching using my Roku, or if I am watching it from my PC. I can stream other sites perfectly fine so the problem is definitely on Crunchyroll's end.

If anyone has a solution to this, I'd really like to know because it's ridiculous to pay to watch shows that I end up not being able to watch properly anyway.

I've also been having an issue lately with pauses in my videos, been going on for the last couple weeks.
