GONZO,arguably the anime industry's worst anime studio brought you an anime adapted from an excellent manga,Chrono Crusade.

The animation is pretty good, and the soundtrack is good too.Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line remains as one of my top ten best anime songs. The seiyuus did a pretty good job,and i must praise them.

Moving on to the plot, this is basically about Rosette and Chrono who works for Order of Magdalene that helps wipe out demonic threat in America. And then of course, there is the primary antagonist,Aion. It is pretty well balanced, with humour along with some hardcore action.Along that, you also get some love love vibes from chrono and rosette.

Rosette's ultimate mission is to search for her brother,Joshua who has been missing for years after an incident.Despite acting clumsy, rough, shameless and loud,Rosette is actually a nice girl. Her interaction with Chrono is also amusing at times.Although they constantly bicker,it is pretty obvious that they care for each other deeply.

Chrono on the other hand,is a demon who find himself an outcast. The thing is,although he is a demon,he doesn't want to act like one and just want to remain with Rosette. On the other hand,a demon is generally despised by humans. So you see,he is not accepted by both worlds. But Rosette accepted him for who he is,not what he is.Chrono used to be a high ranking demon, but decided to break off his connection with Aion after some time.

The plot built up nicely until the ultimate battle with Aion. The ending sucks for Joshua and Father Remington,as their fates strayed far from what is portrayed in the manga.I think GONZO did no justice to them.Basically,i have no complaints about Rosette and Chrono's ending,as i think it is a beautiful one, although sad.At least they can be together, though i have no idea whether Chrono eneters hell or heaven. But i think the ending for these two are better than the manga.

If you want an anime that is filled with actions and some humour,Chrono Crusade is the answer. But don't expect much from the ending. The last five minutes is going to leave you cursing the screen.

I really enjoyed this anime and not having read the manga I found the end to be perfect but sad. I thought the music, especially the opening, was good. I watched some advertisement for a dubbed version and it was pretty bad.

I agree with most everything as well. The music was great (causing me to get the entire soundtrack), the story was consice and well planed out, and the animation was better than most. This has easily become one of my favorite all time animes. However, despite all this, I really, really wanted the happy ending I so badly wished for. I know it was an adaptation of the manga, and they die in the end there as well, and although I agree that the ending was very beautiful, and quite the tear jerker, it still left a bad taste in my mouth and left me want a happier ending to finish it off.

No matter what though, this is a recomended must watch anime to all.

You said it. In our translation here about the story may vary from yours there (whereever you are), but one things sure, I got the story's detail in every side of my mind. It's kinda sea-high-tear-flooder it was in the end, and a mysterious ending it has makes me want for more. If you know that there's a next chapter about it, please give me some informations about it...:)

Yep, but I mean, if there would be another Chrono Crusade story, that'll be what I'll be waiting about...

If only GONZO decided to be more loyal to the original storyline (or if Kyoto animation is responsible for this anime instead of GONZO), this good anime will become another masterpiece.

Chrno Crusade's original manga contained 8 volumes. However, the anime's storyline just only complied with the first four volumes of th manga (To the point where Rosette met Joshua in episode 19). In addition, there're many scenes and grand battles from the manga cut out. There're various key concepts altered in an anime. Unlike manga, there're many problems unsettled. (Maybe it's right to say that GONZO is arguably anime industry's worst anime studio)

For this reason, I highly recommend everyone who have watched Chrno Crusade anime to read a manga as well. I admit that the anime is good, but the manga is 10 times better, and it will be a great pity to miss it. For those who haven't watched Chrno Crusade anime, watch it before you read the manga, or else you will curse this anime.

SPOILER ALERT

(Example of )Things from Chrno Crusade manga that are altered in an anime.

- Aion, the villain of the series, is more respectable. He cares his comrades much. He isn't as horny as in the anime and never made any sexual harassment to Rosette or Satella. At the end of the series, he actually dies.
- Demons aren't those that we've known from the bible. In the manga, they're some kind of Alien.
- Father Remington isn't an angel. He is an augmented warrior.
- Rosette isn't the saint and isn't brainwashed by Aion. She fought alongside Chrno to the end of the series. She also got a new gun called Tetra grammaton.
-After the battle with Rosette ,Joshua finally back to his normal state. At the end of the story, he married with Azmaria.
- Magadalene order isn't as useless as in the anime. There're other militias apart from Rosette and Remington. The order also has its own air cruiser.
- There're more dtail about Mary Magdalena.

when i finished the anime a couple of days ago, i couldn't bring myself to read the manga right away.
i just felt like the anime ending of Chrono Crusade was too good to be replaced by the manga.
i mean, how can you not get emotional with that last episode..
ehem ehem, but i wished the battle between chrono and aion was more 'extreme'. i mean theyre high level demons for crying out loud, at least make the battle aerial.

as much as i enjoy crying because of good endings, the last few minutes were disturbing.
that fact about aion being born out of human desire, and the mystery of the 3rd secret of fatima.

after watching that, i researched about the Fatima prophecies. it was a good read.
for some reason, chrono crusade made it to my all-time favorites.
i'll read the manga after a few weeks. ironically, i already know what will happen in the manga because of wikipedia.. i think i'll prefer the anime ending, but who knows, i might get a change of heart.

"i dont intend on living longer than you. When you die, i will cease to exist" <-- or something like that. C'mon! that shit is the sweetest thing ive heard.
