I am trying to watch ace dimond, but the video just stops all the time. I am watching in 1080p on chrome.

Any solutions? My internetconnection is fine. 111mbs / 11mbs, so its not that.

I am having the same problem with any anime i watch. they will randomly freeze and i have to refresh the page (often several times) before it starts to play again. the internet connection is fine here, and i have tried clearing my browser's cache and everything as well. (also using chrome, but this problem still occurs on firefox as well).

Are both of you running wirelessly ? I just ran into that issue with a new router . I had to reset the router's setting on the 2.4ghz down from default setting (lowered it to 20mhz from 50mhz) . CR website did not like the higher setting for some reason .

Streaming in general is easily affected by other network activity, especially if the data throughput between client and server is limited. As you may know, buffer size for streaming of DRM-protected content is usually limited. Other network activity might receive higher priority or grab bandwidth more aggressively, causing the stream to choke.

For example:
I'm watching a stream at home, my internet speed there is 3mbit, which means just below 720p requirement. If my mom starts a call on the VoiP landline, which gets a high priority assigned by the router, I will have trouble streaming the usual 480p. However, the bandwidth used by the call isn't nearly enough to actually drop the available bandwidth below the threshold.

In my instance , it rolled over & died...lol ! find it odd that the stream cannot handle the higher MHz . Unless it's a DRM restriction that only CR uses . Funimation and other sites don't have the issue .It's a shame I have to slow my network down for just CR...

I'm not subscribed to either Crunchyroll, or Funimation.

What I have tried to watch on Funimation loads from Hulu and is considerably lower quality than Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll on the other hand, has an extremely shitty flash player that crashes or freezes quite often.

So either way, I'm screwed.

FUNimation has a dedicated video player for subscribers (All-AccessPass or SubPass).
