I'm trying to find a campaign to join on Fantasy Grounds using the 5E ruleset, but I'm willing to go to Pathfinder or 3.5 as well. Does anyone here play rpgs like DnD or Pathfinder?

I'm on again/off again with D&D. Good rules base but I stick with 2nd and 3rd edition. Pathfinder is also quite good. I prefer D&D for more specific battle scenarios and the customization,Pathfinder for easier fighting and storytelling flow.

I occasionally play 3.5 edition, though I also play other table top RPGs like Mutants and Mastermind and the star wars RPGs by Fantasy Flight Games.

I would recommend signing up to roll20.net

You can LFG for role play groups for various system also. It's a virtual tabletop platform. I currently play 5E on it with friends and will be joining my first LFG tomorrow.

I play D&D 3.5 mixed with the D20 Modern system Big Eye Small Mouth so we can mix anime concepts into our game. Currently though i'm waiting on a new system I preordered called Ryuutama and i'm preparing to run a game using the system Anima: Beyond Fantasy.

I really like playing tabletops

I'm also waiting for Ryuutama, grr, kickstarters take forever. And I'm currently learning Anima, the Spanish version though, because the English translation wasn't very good (and we never got the Exxet version )

unfortunately I didn't get a chance to kickstart Ryuutama before and now that its taken so long for it to come out I would have been spitting kittens if I had to wait this long (two years though? TWO FREAKING YEARS?) but I re-ordered it last year through their website and I pre-ordered the PlusPlus edition. And I really want to play but I have to be patient...patient....

Anima I am learning through the English version (even with all the typos since I haven't learned Spanish yet :'( even though i'm learning) I figure with the typos I can try to either figure it out or I can implement house rules.

There are SOME other English Anima books that were translated like: Those Who Walked Amongest Us, Dominus Exxet, and Arcana Exxet. I think there is more then that though.

Hey would you like to try and wait for Ryuutama and learn Anima together?

Sure!

It would be helpful to hear what you find good or bad about the translated version, because I'm planning to video-review Spanish Anima as compared to the English version when I understand how to play. And if you find something unclear on the English version, I can look it up on Exxet and see if it's better explained there.

That makes me curious on why the Spanish version is more clear then the English version? Alos since you are planning on doing video reviews if you have a YouTube I can subscribe to you channel.

I used to play 2nd edition a lot when I was younger. The last time I actively posted in a forum was a DnD forum years ago before it got wiped. DnDAdventures.com. It's still around but once it got wiped it was never the same. I've played a little 3 &3.5. Heard 4 was crap and haven't read much about 5 to be honest. I'm still holding onto Thac0 but all my friends say I should move on! Hehe.

I haven't played D&D in years!

I played a lot of 2E back in the day & then ran a number of different 3E games including:
- A game set in my own fantasy universe
- A d20 modern-esque game set in the 1860s US where Drow, Orcs existed & were planning to invade the surface during the US Civil War
- A game set in the Forgotten Realms setting
- A gladiator style game where everyone made a munchkin-ed out character & just battled each other

It was a lot of fun! But I haven't played in YEARS. Don't even think I have my dice anymore.

Perhaps you will be happy to know that AD&D and other Thac0 related games are still very much played; Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea is a relatively new retroclone that still uses that mechanic.

I forgot to mention, if anyone here enjoys tabletop rpgs, check out my youtube rpg review channel right here:

I'll be covering a very, very interesting Pathfinder supplement next week, and maybe Anima this Friday.
