So I love trying odd international drinks and snacks. I was a part of a rather active foodie database site that let the user track their snacks, leave reviews, find sellers of obscure foreign munchies and the like. It unfortunately shut down last year and I can't find anything like it,so....

Maybe someone on CR has seen something like this? It's kind of like myanimelist for munchies and drinks.

I don't know of any sites that are like what you describe where you can review all kinds of food. But there are sites where you can leave reviews of takeaways such as justeat and hungryhouse.

I rarely do takeaways. I'm just have to find a site that sells my treats and has a bit of a community setup.

Sorry, I don't think I know of a site like that. You could try googling it, or try yahoo answers. If the question hasn't been asked already on there, you can ask and you'll probably get a decent reply. I've managed to get quite a lot of information on there when i've been looking for certain kinds of sites that I couldn't find otherwise.

Not sure about a site that translates japanese candy wrappers, but I do know a site that seels a wide range of japanese sweet treats. Try tofucute.com.

Also, if you're in the UK or you're ever planning on coming to London for a visit, there's the Japan Centre in Piccadily Circus. It's a big Japanese supermarket with authentic Japanese food. A lot of the stuff they sell is in the original packaging written in Japanese, but there's usually English labels on the shelves. And the staff in there are very friendly and helpful, so you can ask too.
