So I was browsing through Viewster and found that they had licensed an English dubbed version of Sushi and Beyond. I sampled an episode and was instantly hooked on it! It's really different from most of the anime I've seen. For starters it has more of an American cartoon style. There's a 6 minute live-action segement at the end of each episode told from the first person perspective. The show talks about how Japanese food is made and follows a British family's 100 day trip to Japan. I realize it's kind of a niche show but has anyone else seen it? What do you think? I just caught up on the show myself.

Never heard it it! I love food and cooking related anime, and an Americanized view of things will be interesting to se through Japanese eyes.

Looks like the NHK World feed (http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/tv/schedule/index.html) has it at 5:10 & 9:10 AM Pacific Time on Sunday. I'll check it out if I'm up.

I catch this on NHK World every once in a while. I can't say anything good about it.... It's dull like a bad American sunday funnies comic strip. Annoying voices. Cloying with that NHK-ish let's put a gaijin in front of the camera to act all amazed at how absolutely wonderful all things Japan are. So... meh.
