Just looking for a reliable and reasonably priced place to buy some figures from.

I know, obviously, you pay for quality.
i guess most importantly here, is that I'm looking for a site that rip me off with cheap knock-offs.

Any one of these shops should work, provided what you're after isn't hard to find. Personally, AmiAmi is my go-to. They have great deals and their shipping on in-stock items is pretty fast.

Good luck!

I go on here to order mine pretty often. A lot of them have pretty decent prices & you get a small discount for preordering on a couple of these too.

No problem! MFC is an outstanding merchandise resource, and not just for figures. Hell, I'm always discovering items I didn't know existed for series I love, and my wallet hates me for it.

Generally speaking, you'll find that there isn't really a one-stop shop for this stuff, though.

Amiami.com is a pretty reliable site. You have to preorder most figures though, or else they all sell out. However, I've ordered a few things from there and they all came in great shape. I feel like the prices are also fair considering everything on the site is imports.

Ebay is a scary place. You never know with ebay. Can't say I've ordered many figures from there myself. I know someone who has, it's best to look at reviews for the items and be very careful with it all.

Amazon.com has great shipping but their prices can be a bit bad sometimes. But they aren't always bad. Not always.

PS. Most figures are really pricey though. I mean, just in general lol.

People overlook that forum pretty often when first posting, but a lot of people do read there and give answers. I've gone ahead and moved this thread over.

I recommend using Amiami. Amiami doesn't require payment after ordering. You just have to wait for them to get the shipping prices. Just be careful about canceling orders. Other than that, you'll be fine if you order and pay for those figures.

If you're going to use Amazon, look for the seller's name and feedback. It might be better to buy some figures from Amazon.com, but it depends on what you're looking for. Watch out for those whacky prices though.

Rightstuf.com has a huge selection of figures, and other stuff. From what I have seen other retail sites price their figures at, on average, Rightstuf prices are like 25% cheaper then anywhere else, sometimes as high as 50% cheaper, so for still in print figures, rightstuf is pretty damn cheap(well cheap for expensive as hell figures anyway lol)

There's nothing wrong with using ebay, just follow the cardinal rule, know your stuff. Other then that, I would ignore anyone using just stock pics(although for collectable such as this, I doubt many people will be using stock pics anyway)

Don't ever, for any reason use Amazon.com to buy out of print items at all, and out of print collectibles is even worse. It's bad enough people ask a min of double of the max value of a item, but sellers aren't allowed to post pictures of said item, so you never know WTF you are gonna end up getting in general, nevermind the condition.

I usually just go find whatever and then look at all the mecha figurines and the ones you can build like gundam for instances
then browse for 30 minutes
oh look that ones 60 dollars not 30 dollars like the one I had in mind but not in stock
oh look
oh
money
sigh I can't afford this

I have a question about a specific figure, namely Ginjyujisha's upcoming 1/2 scale Hestia figure.

Usually I use Hobby Search for my figure needs, with a few odd ones from cdjapan and amiami thrown in. However, when it comes to special figures like this, especially restricted runs, they don't always have a tendency to appear on all sites, and pre-order slots for them tend to run out as soon as you blink. Like Griffon's 1/2.5 Kirino which for some odd reason wasn't available from Hobby Search(but was/is from cdjapan and amiami...).
Also, the more special one is, the more restrictions like limited regions there seem to be(I'm looking at you, Tokyo Otaku Mode), and sometimes the pre-order slots are all but reserved for the Japanese side(Hobby Search often guilty of this).

So, anyone know which sites I should expect to see this popup for pre-order at some point, for international customers, so I can keep an eye on them? Would not rather not miss the train on this...

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but didn't feel the question warranted one of its own...
