Learned this little tidbit in Metaphysics (yes I am not just an idiot. I know shocking right )

We're self aware. We know what we are. We're human. Plants do not know they are plants, and a desk does not know it's a desk. We can contemplate our life, and even our eventual death. We are so free that we can do this and still be aware.

Taking a Metaphysics course very admirable, more people should take them don't you agree? Metaphysics was my favorite philosophy class. Sorry but my inner philosopher is coming out so forgive me. But are we really all that different from any other living organism, are we not all made up of essentially the same material (i.e. DNA)? If we do have self awareness and it is a result of some genetic mutation, is it possible that our freedom is an illusion?

Ya know to be honest I dreaded taking it but it was so interesting. Opened my eyes to so much stuff, like really did.

Congratulations on taking the class and surviving it. It is not an easy class to be sure. Definitely makes you look at reality in a different way.

Anime and manga, humans made that! Also, I like people that are not afraid to be themselves. People who say "yeah, this isn't the norm. But fuck it! This is who I am!"

What I like is that we are self conscious and independent beings that in times of turmoil and hardship we have the ability to treat each other not as strangers but as a family, the human family.

What I don't like are those people who think they can go around treating others as sub-human and those that are on a throne, high horse or a pedestal thinking they are better than everyone else namely celebrities. My question is will those people be that high when they die or just like us normal people when we go 6 feet low?

At their most base, humans are best known for their wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. At our best, we're known for virtues such as kindness, empathy, compassion, generosity, patience, wisdom, and willpower. Virtues can't exist without some base urges to overcome, after all.

Yes, many people give into those base urges and become consumed by them. Others rise above them. My favorite part of all, however, is human sentience itself. There isn't another creature known to man that can think about reality on nearly as critical a level as a human being can.

Many things. I like many things about humanity and people in general. Yes, you could come up with many things that are bad about people in general and the human race, but there is not just a lot of bad in regards to people, there is also a lot of good, too. Just like how, yes, there is a lot of bad things about life, but there is also a lot of goodness and beauty to it, too.

I have long been fascinated by the seven deadly sins. I find they create a strong guideline for shaping our thoughts and actions toward personal, spiritual growth. Or on a more mundane level, as the name implies, can all in excess potentially lead to pain or death in yourself or others. Although I disagree with the use of the term pride. Pride such as an artisan has in their creations is beneficial to all parties. It is far better to use the original term "hubris".
Anyhow, I never recall seeing the seven deadly sins coupled with corresponding virtues like that. Very cool, I like it.

And I agree, perhaps the best thing about the human race is that we are capable of waxing philosophical as such. Also, we invented ice cream.

The Human Race is "in fact" a Relay Race.
