As many of you might already know, the FBI arrested about 14 current or former FIFA corporate executives. If you follow soccer, this was not really a surprise as FIFA is truly corrupt. To give you an example, the 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar. Which is absurd as Qatar is one of the hottest country in the world especially since the game will be over the summer. Also the country has a terrible human health record.

To get to the point, even though FIFA is corrupt, i find it very hypocrital and hilarious that the FBI has the time to deal with FIFA even though we have a lot of corruption in our very own country like the US Congress.

Discuss.

How is FIFA corrupt for changing the location of a World Cup? Perhaps that's not all, but I mean come on... it's a sports related corporation, what could they do that would warrant FBI intervening? Rigging games? Who cares. Taking bribes to host games elsewhere? Who cares. Really, what could they have done?

In terms of the world cup, hosting it in Qatar was so improbable that nobody predicted it. There were better countries suited to host it that the onl logical reason had to be corruption. In fact, Qatar does not have any notable soccer players or organization to speak off, they literally have to buy players to play for them and become a Qatari. This is not really a problem as the country is rich. Also, i don't know if you've ever played soccer before but you wouldn't last if you had to play in 120 degrees condition.

And i think you are saying the same thing i am, why is the FBI bothering with FIFA if there are bigger corruptions they could be feeling with like US Congress or various police departments across the country

I'm sure Kim Jong Un would make a much better leader for FIFA than the current corrupt president. We all know how much Dear Leader loves sports!

I just don't think it is "corruption" if FIFA corporation is holding their World Cup in a country that probably offered FIFA more money than any other country. I just think it's stupid to call this corruption. It's just them taking the best deal for themselves. The players will play regardless of the country, and if conditions are too unfavorable, they will take several breaks. There really is no issue here. FIFA as a whole obviously has no issue with this and are continuing their agenda as they just re-elected the same guy as their CEO. The CEO himself said they will keep doing what they are doing, but will go elsewhere business wise.

do you even football?

Qatar hosting a world cup is probably the most corrupt shit I've ever seen.... why is Qatar hosting the World Cup? Qatar does even have a football team? all these bribes and corruption are destroying football, fixed group stages, fixed games, the referees favouring teams in world cups like South Korea, teams like Mali and Cayman Islands having the same power as Germany or Italy, America (United States) is worried more about football than most countries,

they are chaning everything, the world cup may as well change to a winter tournament

I seriously hope Blatter gets jailed and Qatar gets removed from the world cup, a country as such does not deserve football

That's just one example dude, trust me they have been countless incidents that i don't care to remember. But i also think there is a process before selecting the world cup host. And other countries fared better than Qatar. Choosing Qatar is an example of FIFA Corruption

Again, this is just a sport corporation who is out to make a profit. They don't give a care if things are fixed, or if referees favor teams. So long as they get more money, it's all okay. I don't see why it's a big deal if sports aren't "fair" or are "fixed". It's not like it matters. Say you were a CEO of a large corporation and you had to choose which country to visit for an event that only happens every x amount of years. Some wealthy country gives you a huge offer that far outweighs other offers, but the problem is their country doesn't have something related to your corporation that others do. As the CEO, your choice is either (a) take the best offer, or (b) screw the best offer, and go to the country that contains your brand. Of course as a good CEO you'll go with (a). Why? Because next time those countries if they want to host your corporation event they will bid higher and higher to win your spot. I don't understand why people see this as corruption. Is corruption trying to make your corporation as much money as possible? If so, I don't think anyone understands the point of what being a business is all about. It's not to make friends or be loyal. It is making the most money possible.

Exactly! This guy understands how businesses operate. Businesses are NOT there to "play fair" they exist to make money.

Okay, if it's non-profit, all they need to do is pay their leaders all that money and not the corporation itself and they are safely within the non-profit organization role.

Just because a business is non-profit does not mean they don't exist to make money. It only means they pay their expenses, and then any money they make after expenses is paid to the employees in which the organization does not make a profit. Rather, the leaders are making loads of money.

Of course FIFA is corrupt. Everyone can tell, even people who don't follow football. Why else would you host the world cup in a country hardly anyone's ever heard of and is too hot to play in? Not to mention before Quatar gets the world cup, it's being held in Russia first which is a country full of political unrest and disliked by most of Europe. Many of these events are corrupt now. Eurovision, anyone?

But at the end of the day, it's football. It doesn't really matter. The FBI needs to prioritise and focus on things that actually matter. I imagine most people in America would prefer them to be investigating stuff that happens in their own country. Surely that should be their main priority: protecting US citizens.

And you don't think this is corruption? Read the mission statement of FIFA which basically exists to further the game of soccer around the world but instead they just make money for themselves and collect bribes

Oh yes, I watched this episode. He hates Sepp Blatter so much, but somehow he keeps getting reelected. The one good thing he does is that he stands up for th little guys, hosting the first ever world cup in Africa and the middle east
