I think people should be able to do what they want and people shouldn't attack or harass people for their choices, but I'm going to level with you...Most people in 2015 don't care because its a stranger that doesn't affect their lives, but would freak the hell out if it were their father.

anznAlso, is it bad to have an open mind? idk about you but I think more people should be more open-minded.

Some people don't know the difference between an open mind and a hole in the head.

I'm still iffy about transsexualism, but if he, er, she is happy, that should be all that matters.

See right there? I just committed bigotry. Though ultimately I just don't understand, and I can only use myself as an example. Who knows if there may be a little girl inside of me just screaming to come out into the world? I also believe in the concept of an anima (one's female self). However, I was born a male, and I will live as a male.
Then again, I heard that there are people who actually experience chemical problems that could actually kill them, and as a result a sex-change is necessary. I only heard about this case once, though, and it was on Gaia Online way back in, what, 2009?

Also, then again, I remember hearing about a former Navy SEAL who underwent a sex-change. I have to say that's an interesting circumstance.

I not only remember his post-Decathlon Wheaties commercial, I remember John Belushi doing his SNL parody of it.

That seems to be the fuel of most of the "You have got to be freakin' kidding.... " reactions. Gymnastics, maybe, skating, definitely, but 70's Decathlon??
(Still, it does rather emphasize just which demographic still cares about reality shows and the Kardashians.)

HE used to be on a Wheaties box for winning the '76 Olympic Decathlon. (And was parodied by John Belushi for it in a classic SNL sketch.)

Don't watch SNL, don't know what Wheaties are (cereal, I presume), and don't know anything about people in individual Olympics in years past. I know the events, which country wins what, but that's about it. Also, I recognize the name, but know nothing about the Kardashians who were named in the initial post. Do I win the caveman of the year award?

Weed and transgenderism are not equivalent.

but youd rather tell someone to cut off their manhood instead of trying pot. maybe thats not what youre saying. have you ever talked to a cross dresser, wait a minute you watch anime. theres plenty of "traps" in "your" life

So these are the only things that can naturally indicate sex:

Physically characteristics i.e. genitals/breasts/figure/bone structure etc.
Hormones
Chromosomes XX or XY
Sexual Orientation

There is no other way to "feel" like a certain gender. All of these things are easily known. So how does someone identify as the other gender? It isn't anything biological. Liking pink and dresses cannot be a reason. These things are social constructs. So how is being "trans" not just a mental disorder? And why is self-mutilation promoted knowing this?

your assuming the xx/xy genetic meterial is strictyl xx or xy, it more like an influence of factors instead of strictly male/female.
second, your assuming of 'trans' being a mental disorder might be correct, since a woman can have testes instead of overies, who is to say the brain in a man should have been for a woman?

some people say they feel like they were born in the wrong body, modern science cant say that is wrong.

and for the record, she needs bigger boobs and a smaller chin, and yes, some where deep inside of me is a girl screaming to come out.
