Eating raw eggs is stupid, it is only for the movies like in Rocky but the risk of Salmonella makes it not worth it at all.

A prairie oyster: one raw egg,(yolk unbroken), Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and black pepper, straighten you right out.

America's health standards are low compared to Japan. I most likely wouldn't eat/drink raw egg here, but it might be a possibility over in Japan.

You're taking a risk whenever you eat or drink pretty much anything. Whenever you do anything, in fact. Even just driving your car to the market is a risk.

Undercooked meat and fish can contain parasites and nasty germs that might make you sick. Overcooked stuff is carcinogenic. Whenever you try something new, there's a chance you'll be allergic to something in it. Even raw fruit and veggies can have stuff in it, like germs from fecal matter used in the fertilizer. Your canned food might be bad, just as the supermarket produce can be tainted.

1/20,000 doesn't sound to bad to me. As long as you take the necessary precautions and store/handle your food properly to minimize risk, there's an inherent risk always involved in everything. I think people are just too squeamish in the west, in general, when it comes to raw animal products.

As long as the eggs are fairly fresh, no problem. I've dropped them on top of ramen and rice, or just swallowed them whole or stirred into chocolate milk as a quick breakfast. And don't forget the original occidental raw egg food, traditional eggnog!

Salmonella or no, it doesn't sound especially tasty. I love raw salmon, and I love bloody beef, but I'll pass on the raw egg.

Nope. As much as I love eggs I don't think I could eat them raw. I need something mixed or have pepper and salt in my eggs.

Done it, I don't like the texture or flavor of the whites but the raw yolk is fine.
