If you come on Crunchyroll with Adblock enabled you are litterally stealing ad revanue from the company. When you go on youtube to go watch your favorite youtuber and you have Adblock on you are basically telling them that You want the content they don't charge you for AND you can't even be bothered to wait 10-15 seconds (30 seconds at the most) so that they can make some kind of money to support there own lively hood.

On Hulu the site will NOT let you watch anything if you have adblock on and i think that's what other companies are going to have to do, or maybe embed the ad in the video.
I know ads are annoying and some sites deserve to have there obnoxious/intrusive ads blocked but if it's a site you frequent for FREE then i don't see why you wouldn't support them with your time. I've been adblock free for 3 months now and I feel better that i'm doing something productive for the things i like

TL;DR: Adblock steals money from the companies you like blah blah stop stealing. What do you think about adblock and it's users? What do you think companies like Crunchyroll and Youtube should do about it if anything.

EDIT: Additional question. What do you think Google thinks about adblock on their own browser stopping ads on their sites?

I use it, and have no intention of not using it.

I did support CR. I used to have premium. I can't really do that right now, and don't really want to sit through ads every five minutes when I'm watching something. I hate when Im watching on my tablet and there's ad after ad, it's disruptive.

I use Ad Block on everything I can use. I don't watch anime on illegal sites, and don't read manga on illegal sites so I'm supporting the anime industry legitimately in that respect

technically you might as well be watching on a illegal site if you don't have the means for a membership (I don't have one at the moment either so i understand that part) but once you block the ads you technically are only supporting yourself....

Or you just pay the site itself. I always buy some kind of memberships if it prevent ads. Well in case of Crunchy, i buy premium because i can't wait 1 week and i hate ads.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS That's how i look at it. It's just that some people do neither and think it's fine. It's a free country i guess but I just want to make it clear that if you do neither then you're basically stealing

For me, it's more of a paranoia thing. I work in the IT field, and I know that malware can piggyback on ad space. I've seen it happen quite a few times. And trying to clean out a PC is never a fun thing. So, I'm going to keep using it regardless.

I get that. If Crunchyroll specifically had ads they'd play during anime and not other ads I'd not use it. But I don't want to see an ad for Applebee's every five minutes.

I would consider not using it if the ads were less long and less intrusive. Having ads throughout a video is just annoying.

Ads have been around as long as video entertainment. In fact, for almost 60 years, there wasn't anything you could do about the ads, other than change the channel. Then came VCRs. We were finally able to fast forward though ads! This was amazing technology to us in the late 1970's. As the Internet developed and grew into a content provider of media, ads came along for the ride. There wasn't a lot of ads in the early days of the Internet; content was pretty simple back then, so the most they could muster may have been a banner ad.

But as technology advanced, ads also advanced, and companies began to see the Internet as a cash cow. Now they're milking the poor cow to death; some sites I go to are almost overwhelmed with overlapping, competing video ads. Talk about annoying.

However, they do serve a purpose. I don't block ads, but if it gets too annoying, I find a different site to go to. I pay for CR because I want to support the people who make the shows I watch. Ok, to be fair, I also pay for CR because I have no patience and don't want to wait and/or sit through ads.

I understand what you're saying but what do you think about them embedding the ad in a video like how some Youtuber's in the middle of a video take a second to do a ad read.

Same. I read about that somewhere some time ago and have used ADBlock since. I'm not in the IT Field but have friends in the field who give me tips.

I thought the same way so i won't insult you but You have to realize that the companies get's paid for the clicks as well as just rolling them. When you block them they didn't role for you therefor they made nothing by providing you with the content.

malware can also effect yourself phone, your email, and come through any p2p service. What do you think Companies should do about this though?
The post topic was that if you dont pay anything or let ads play that you're stealing, do you agree with that?
