I use it and won't stop using it. Of course, I'm also a premium user so CR isn't losing out on me. I just have Adblock for most sites on the net. Sorry, but someones elses financial issues aren't my problem, nor do I care.

Been using adblock for years and not planning to stop. A lot of ads are annoying and intrusive, stupid flashing banners just trying hard to get attention or "millionth visitor" on site like YouTube, lol. Complete shady junk. Sure, not all ads are like that but I don't care about them anyway. I'm a paying user on this site and subscriber on my favorite streamer on Twitch.tv, the sites I use alot, but I say no to ads.

I'm stealing by using adblock while simultaneously paying for their service AND buying their products.

If the ads made CR that much money per user, they wouldn't offer ad free videos to paying customers.

I use adblock and I will never stop using it. Those sites where it doesn't play the video? The easy way around that is to disable adblocker start the video and then enable adblock again. It then prevents future ads from appearing while avoiding the check to stop adblockers.

I could be wrong but the way I see it is that companies pay sites to host their ads. The site will get money just by having them present. The companies only get money back from those ads if people click on them and/or buy something from them. I won't be clicking on them anyway so there is no point in them being there. I don't really think it hurts the site hosting the ad to block them.

It does hurt the site. If the ad is never viewed, the advertiser gets no reach which would cause the advertiser to pull ads and any funding it gave the website. You really should use ad block in moderation. For sites you like, or youtubers you like, I would disable it on that certain site.

In my case I would never click the ad anyway so they wouldn't know if it reached me or not anyway unless it tells them each time it's blocked. But either way I bought a membership to this site so it doesn't matter here and other sites I use I don't care enough about so meh.

Errrr i stated that if you do one of them then you're it's the people that don't pay out of there pockets to support something they like and use AND block ads. Those people are stealing

I use adblock but since I'm not a premium member, I do turn it off whenever I use crunchyroll to watch anime on my computer but these days. I mostly use my xbox to watch anime on crunchyroll and those ads you definitely can't turn off without premium.

Now I do keep it on while browsing the forums though.

When adblock starts to get blocked more I could imagine there will be a new kind of block, a never ending cycle like trying to stop pirating.

Does adblock really steal from the companies though? I doubt sites like Crunchy or Youtube are paid by how many people watch the ad ( that seems like it would be difficult to find out) as much as paid by how much traffic there is. I wouldn't stop using youtube though if adblock didn't work.

Though since I am a Prem member on Crunchy, I'm not hurting them.

Don't care. If they start forcing me to watch ads I'll stop using youtube, i don't care that much about it so they better find a way to make ad revenue and not waste my time.

And I stopped using Hulu too because you get force fed ads even when you pay a subscription

And by all definitions of the word there's no way you can really call it stealing anyway - they don't lose anything from me watching videos on their site.

Yes and no, for some I would consider destroying what they are building up, unless ads are used horrible that will make either way use adblock.

I use AdBlock, love it, and shall continue using it. However, I will give you my thoughts on this subject.

I support Crunchyroll and the Anime Industry with a Premium membership here. More than often I am forced to watch anime on illegal streaming sites. I have no desire right now to justify my reasons for illegal streaming but do take note that I live in Australia and that shipping from Amazon is expensive and people charge a fortune on ebay. Not to mention the one store that sells anime, sells mostly only the popular anime (SAO, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Dragonball Z).

On one particular site, they have two options for you - You can either support the site through donating money on a weekly basis to be ad-free, or you can simply hide the ads by pressing the little Hide button below the ad. This site stops you from using AdBlock by running a constant check for it. You cannot watch anything until you disable it, and if you try re-enabling it like another user suggested, your stream stops and it comes up with a message asking you to disable AdBlock. Thankfully while there are a lot of ads, these ads are non-intrusive.

If sites want to display ads, I'm cool with it so long as I can hide these ads, and as long as they aren't embedded in videos. Ads should be in the .gif format so that they're as non-intrusive as possible and should be able to be hidden. No-one wants obnoxious, intrusive ads.

Anyway, that's my thoughts on the matter.

I hate illegal anime sites. Sites like kissanime is among the biggest one. I wish all of those sites would be gone.

Why the presumption? If CR has a problem with this practice they can bring the matter to court and the court will decide what's legal or illegal.
