Is CR having any plans to support Amex or prepaid cards in the future? I currently use Amex through paypal since that is the easiest option for me, but starting on July 1st Paypal is changing their TOS so you give them and anyone they sell the rights too permission to robo call you for life.

It's a real scuzzlebut kind of thing they are doing and I really loath robo calls and telemarketers. I hope CR will open up it's direct pay options sometime soon.

FYI, if your phone service is VOIP (U-verse, TWC, etc) you can sign up for a free (for individuals) service called "nomorobo" (google it) which prevents most of them from getting through at all.

Any numbers that they don't have in their database yet get picked up, and if it's a robo call, it adds the number and hangs up. Doctor's reminders, school notifications, legit calls like that are still allowed through.

Works for me pretty good so far. I'm just waiting for election time to see if it stops the political ones, too. (or maybe it already is doing so )

Any calls you get after going through the setup process, you need to wait to see if there is a second ring before answering, otherwise another one bites the dust. It only rings once for the ones it hasn't captured yet.

It only stops robo calls, but that's a lot of them. Someone calling live will still get through, so not a complete miracle here, but a lot of telemarketers and annoyance calls get stopped because that's how they initiate contact.

Looks like PayPal will be losing a lot of service soon. I for one will definitely be closing my account.

I would say take the "wait and see" approach. If anything bothersome actually happens, then close your account.

I personally not too worried about it, since my phone number is a Google Voice number, and I could always permanently route them to voice mail, as I do with my domain registrar. (That means they can still leave a message about anything important, but telemarketing calls get foiled).
