I'm loving this site but anywho for a while now I feel like my head's gonna explode. I can't draw worth shizzle I've never written anything good and and I'd have to do any pet projects alone, but I really want to use my free time to create something inspired from eastern animation, abit like how countries outside japan now making anime. it's a free time idea so I really can't budget for it, and I'm from a part of the UK usually referred to as "the valleys" maybe I'm not looking hard enough but there's not really much here to help with something with an eastern inspiration, so all the drawing/writing etc will have to be self taught in a way, which is a huge learning curve. I want to know is it worth it, where I'm from, to start making something like an anime myself? I'm aware it may take a while before I'd be happy skillwise before making anything

Well I think its a good idea to do something like that in your free time. If you want to start making stuff like anime you should look up on youtube how to draw manga because theres loads of videos out there to help you. Once you think you've become good enough at drawing you should draw and write your own manga and attempt to get it published, If you manage to get it published you should make a few more mangas and then try and make an anime. This is just my opinion of what you should do and im not very smart around how to make manga/anime so...

tbh don't bother making an anime by yourself, it will waste a lot of your time, good decent anime need a production team, also think

if you are a girl, you would usually need a boy to do voice overs
if you are boy you would need a girl for voice overs,
then there's cell animation, 3d cgi special effects, layer by layer onion skin animation, writing a plot, story arcs etc
say your still interested get a bunch of people and try to make one episode tester and just see by 15 minutes how easy it was

I'd say start writing your own fan fiction to start off with and then try to get a few online how to draw manga books and get a a5 journal and do some drawings, draw the body profiles , head frames and learn the general way of manga

I agree with others that doing a whole anime by yourself is a daunting task and would be best if you had a team.
My best suggestion would be to start writing up some story-lines/screenplays, get character sheets drawn up, backgrounds, etc
Build a website(tumblr may be a good option for this) to promote your work and, if you get enough following - work on collaborating with fans and other artists to really start to build something

thanks guys. I am coming around to the idea of making a manga slowly, shaping it in my head. has anyone seen demi-human yet? much of the art looks like it was in motion in the creator's mind's eye. it's really just some creative ideas popping into my head. one of my best "horror" ideas I'm thinking can be comic format, but for the longest time I've had an "art within art" parody/comedy idea which is like, a total amateur artist (ye kinda some of myself in that one) lives with his hellish japanese sister (or so she says she's japanese) I can only imagine that being done as a shortish cartoon (anime art) but past experiences leave me little trust in other people with my ideas and my tone of voice is hard to understand, it's hard to find but look up cross dressing voices, many VA girls do it but it doesn't work that well for guys voicing girls. I guess making the comedy would be too hard alone. for now, I'll just enjoy the learning process and eventually see which idea makes the cut
