How do you respond/react to heated topics?
Why do you respond that way?
How do you feel about them?

I usually don't place my opinions in any topic that might result in a war of opinions. Mainly because I don't wanna hear their opinion, or get a wall of text.

I try to stay away, but sometimes I get drawn in regardless.

I feel pretty terrible reading them to be honest, because it makes me realize how uneducated (not really uneducated, so much as they lack the proper real life experiences to give them knowledge about the topic) alot of people are, in the sense they eat up all the information from one source without actually doing any research.

I tend to be on the side of logic since I actually enjoy doing research on the more "heated" topics out there, and because im on the more logical side, I tend to be labeled as the bad guy.

I agree, I try not to place my opinions as-well, as alot of those discussions dont belong on an anime site to begin with. I would rather not make enemies with a possibly good person because of our difference in political and or ethical stances on topics.

if I post something, then ok. I don't expect people to start replying to my post. I honestly don't care. although it irks me when you have a dweeb that responds to you as if someone ruffled his feathers and tries to attack me. I see that a lot in threads about feminazis.

everyone has their opinion, sucks how everyone gets butt hurt when you don't agree with their ideology. this happened a lot in my online class about literature in mythology. some people got offended because I started comparing religions, so the hard-core protestant Christians tried to bash my post. it was soooooooo stupid.

seriously, am I suppose to care what a kid says?

There is always that one person who thinks their opinion is pretty much law.

My best advice just ignore him, because if you don't they will keep annoying the crap out of you.

i just don't like bullying and that's the only time i'd get involved. i tend to not care about the topic itself so i can argue whatever side i choose to.

The forums have been a bit of a cluster **** of heated topics since Extended Discussion got merged with General. I beta tested that change and totally called that this would happen too

It's weird when you see someone have all the answers for every topic.

Jeopardy is an unbelievable game show.
I'm already in disbelief how these contestants have all the answers.

In principle I try to live according to the following doctrine:

"There is no greater advantage in either discussion or debate than the ability to maintain one's composure and confidence throughout, save perhaps the ability to accept that one has been mistaken."

How well I do in practice isn't really mine to determine.

I don't back down or run away.
I fight them.
And win.

On a serious note,
It depends on the topic. If its personal, its none of my business. I'm open to all kinds of discussions, I'm not afraid to receive critism either (I prefer it to actually be more constructive tbh).
I'm not afraid to voice my opinions especially if I'm educated & confident about it.

I try not to pry into heated topics because opinions are tricky and complex.

How do you respond/react to heated topics? I grab some popcorn and hope to be entertained.
Why do you respond that way? Because nothing bothers me enough to get mad over.
How do you feel about them? Depends on what they say. Sometimes people post things that assure of me their stupidity. Sometimes people post intelligent things that get me to think. Either way, it's sure to be an amusing ride.
