I would say the world revolves around money and consumerism. But since technology is a big aspect of what we consider a must-have, it falls under that. The only reason big companies continue to develop newer technologies is because they know there is a massive amount of people out there willing to buy it. Or else Apple would be out of business.

I think that people are becoming more reliant on technology than before, but money is still what makes the world go round. It's become more of a crutch for many, some people don't know how to communicate or what to do without it.

At this point in history, I'd say the wonders of modern technology have already become a crutch. Life is becoming more hectic because of it, too, since each person is able to do more if he/she has access to modern technology. How many people in first-world countries know how to live comfortably and survive in total wilderness? Even in the wilderness, we will use tools, which count as technology. Without any technology, all we have are our bodies. We can't run as fast or jump as high as some of nature's stronger children. We don't have any claws and our fangs are short.

Money is only of value in limited areas of the world. And it is only valuable to humans.

The world revolves around mortality and technology just serves to spread the ashes farther.

Humanity continues to revolve around the three core principles of power, wealth and sex.

Technology often provides those core principles.

It does now unfortunately. No one can stay off their tablets or smartphones now. I saw a woman sitting in a restaurant eating dinner, while talking to someone on a webam on a tablet. In a bloody restaurant! The world's gone insane!

I still use a flip phone. And honestly I couldnt be happier. All my coworkers are glued to their phones like damn zombies and everywhere you go no one is paying attention to anything they are doing, especially driving. Nothing makes me more upset then absent people. Everyone needs to pay attention to whats going on around them! Last 4th of July, I was watching the fireworks in Orlando and 95% of people were video taping and taking pictures. YOU KNOW WHATS BETTER THAN HD?!?! REAL LIFE!!! OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE!

In the western world it does, but other places are still in the "dark ages". Human strive to keep moving forward and improve things such has technology. In a thousand years, no telling what our technology will be like or maybe we'll advance slow to where we didn't move that far from what it is now. I don't think we'll be like the Jetson's anytime soon though. lol. We have to worry about other things to improve better then technology. The last five or six hundred years we had Leonardo da vinci that was the best inventions of his time. We had ancient people that created things that even scientist today can't explain how like the Stonehenge in England. The most advance that humans ever achieve is medical. There was one scientist (I can't remember his name) attach a monkey's head to another monkey's body and it was very successful, but it died two days later due to the tissue rejecting the other tissue. It's like that book ( I don't remember the name) that was issue in the 50's talking about the future of the internet and cell phones and other technology. No one believed it until now. I really wish I can remember that name of the book because it's a shock how it explains the future technology of way ahead of it's time. When I watch about Mary Pickford, the first famous actor from Canada, no one believed that cinema would be the future. People that it was a running gag and it would get far. Technology changes because of people. It's up to humans to invent and improve that invention. Technology has always been there, it takes an inspiring and genius mind to create that dream into reality.

I think the world really revolves more around money but Technology plays a big role in our lifes today. I can't really say which one plays a bigger role but they both play a huge one.
