What sucks about anime/manga?
Posted 6/6/15
The fact that the cool powers, pretty/non-judgemental anime characters, and the cool plots are not real, and will never happen in real life.

the endings

i rarely finish a manga and say "wow that was a great ending!" mostly it's "eh that was ok i guess" or "omgsh whats wrong with this mangaka this makes no sense"

For animes:

- bad plot

- fillers (including flashbacks containin' scenes we've already seen countless of times, and flashbacks containing another flashback)

- storylines that divert away from its manga counterpart

- writer's convenience (if it was meant for comedic purposes, I'd be much forgiving)

- those that don't finish a season (or leave you hangin' by 1 episode.... and hopes upon hope that you'd continue where it left off, by reading the manga instead)

- vague endings that leaves a lot of plot holes uncovered.

For manga:

- when it takes not just a couple of weeks, but months before an issue is released
- poor translations

I'm sure there are other qualms I've got on either, but these be all I can remember at the moment.

Failure to follow through and finish.

Japan never finishes their anime runs I swear. Or the authors paint themselves into a corner and take a cop-out ending from left field if they don't just kill it completely.

My rant of the day. Don't get me started on LN and editors.

My biggest gripe too. There are so many series that left me hanging over the years.

How excessively creepy some stories get. Why do light hearted stories HAVE to go that route, it gets so disturbing and annoying

What I hate about anime and manga are the cliffhangers that never get resolved

Aniplex's pricing and distribution structure.

- it comes out weekly... well most tv shows come out weekly... but i wish it was daily lol.

- average episode number is 12 or 24... i wish there were longer series that are not shonen -_- or magical schoolgirls or for kids (pokemon, yugioh) -_-

- cliches. the people are afraid to experiment... and sometimes they just recycle jokes, character designs etc.

1st point: it takes time to animate something from nothingness,so give them break would you?

2nd point: Average number of episode is that low because some animes are very lowly funded or limited in resources so they cant really go on much longer without added funding.Hence some animation companies cut things short so they are left on the winning side not losing side. And you most understand, those kinds of animes(that you so kindly listed) have biggest consumer factions so they tend to sell the most well.

3rd point:I agree with you on this one, though you must also understand when your livinghood relies on something you are not very keen to try out new things that might end up with you never making another anime series ever. So yeah...

When a good anime doesn't get a good finish and bad ones do.
