You do. You set the value on your own life by your actions and words. If you want to bust your ass and create a business that makes something for society, your value is increased. If you devote your life to helping others then your value is even more.

If you want to become a criminal and prey on others then your value is zero.

You misunderstand me it seems. Allow me to clarify please.

Dualism was disproven, at least I would argue for the following reasons. Descartes presupposed that there was a third substance, which was apart from res cogitans (thinking substance) and body (physical matter). This third substance somehow linked the two, so that some sort of knowledge of the physical world could be absolutely known and understood. Newton disproved Descartes' conception of physical matter, because Newton illustrated that there are unintelligible and mystic forces at work in nature. Gravity is such a force. It is action at a distance, which we can observe. We can explain how gravity works, but even with Einstein's overhaul of Newton's theories on gravity, we don't know why gravity works as action at a distance per se. When Newton proposed such a magical notion, which we commonly accept today as action at a distance, it disproved Descartes' idea of body. Descartes thought that body/matter all functioned and associated with one another by physical contact, but Newton proved that this was not so. Therefore, dualism has kind of been discredited because no one since the fall of Descartes' notion of body, has been able to articulate exactly what body/matter is. We just kind of assume that it is there through experience. With the fall of the notion of body, the need for the third substance, which Descartes attributed to a certain part of the brain, disappeared from explanatory models. All we were left with was an intelligible notion of mind.

Newton didn't disprove the existence of the soul/mind, but rather he disproved that we can truly and absolutely know the existence of matter/body. We just sort of assume that it does exist because we experience it. Then we try to build ourselves intelligible theories to explain what we observe through our senses and how they work. Yes, you are right, our sense of reality is not down pat. We just simply trust our senses most of the time. Now if you want to remain skeptical and doubt everything your senses tell you, that's fine. Most people would not do that though, which I think gives me full confidence in saying there has never and probably never will be a true and absolute skeptic.

Personal view; all lives are equal.

Reality is the value of life is dictated by the masses and change given time and circumstance. You cant take religion or government out of the equations because that is part of the masses POV.

Ask a priest what a human life is worth
then ask a murderer what one life is worth

It always depends on who your asking.

People are often easy to manipulate. Especially at a young age. Just feed them ur shit practically all their life & they'll be on your side.
But, everyone's life is worth something. And society shouldn't tell you otherwise.


Christianity isn't the only religion that speaks against homosexuality... plus, think about it. If religion is made by man, and the bible is anti-gay. Then obviously people must have been anti-gay before the creation of religion

Christianity isn't actually anti-LGBT though. Which is why, I said it's not even actual Christian beliefs either. It's just THEIR beliefs but they say it's Christianity's. Basically they're extremists.

about emotions and life values, it seems like from heavy emotions for one person can make everyone else = 0 value either for a time period or reduse it for quite some time (like if a very dear person to you dies, makes you forget about everyone else and so on)
