With great shame.

Haha. Now, in all serious-businessness, I'd say you can pronounce it as you fancy. In my Oxf. Dictionary, which makes use of the International Phonetic Alphabet, I see: ˈmaŋɡə.
The a is like the first a in pasta.
The ŋ is exactly the same as the last sound in sing. Or the n in spanish Domingo.
And the ə is the a in about.
I've always said manga as in Spanish. I have a more transatlantic accent, and the word manga has never come up in conversation here in America, so I did't now there were other ways of saying it. Meinga sounds cute, haha.

Man-ga

That's how everyone I know in real life says it, and also how you hear anime characters say it. Where are people getting "mon" and "gu" from? o.o

Er... That isn't mon-ga, it's manga using the au sound. There's a slight difference, if you pay super close attention.

I'm guilty of pronouncing it as I see it. Like how Hispanics say "man" like "mang", followed by "uh". "Mang-guh". But I think it's supposed to be pronounced "mahn-gah".

mahng-gah

They don't really care how you pronounce the ん since it's all written the same way despite the pronunciation but if it comes before a g or k, it becomes an "ng" sound most of the time.

I dont know how to pronounce it anymore, I usually go back and forth between Main-Ga and Mon-Ga . In my state we have an accent, and say our vowels differently so that doesn't help either.

Got a good chuckle out of this.

Main-ga for me. It feels like it takes longer to saw "maw-n-ga".

"Mah-n-Gah," always, every time. And always, every time, I get the question, "What's Manga?"
And that's another potential friendship ruined.
