i think rap and pop singers has no talent and no skills or dedication.
i think metal is only hate in mainstream cause people has think it about the devil this and that.
i also blame rap and pop to the decline of intelligent people too. And the lyrics are so crap and a three year old could right better poetry than rappers and pop.
i will give thee awesome metal bands. to prove it not.

I don't know if you're serious.. but I'm pretty sure you're just listening to mainstream music, which is crap in general. Dig deeper into rap, and pop. You'll find some good stuff. As for these bands.. I don't think screaming obscure nonsense over double pedal and palm muting is better than rapping about girls and money. Lyrics are pretty generic, honestly. I can go listen to Sworn In, Volumes, or some other obscure djent-ass band and hear the same stuff. I like all three: rap, pop, and metal. What you're doing is comparing vegetables and fruit with each other.

To prove my point again, that last link sounds like every other Jesus-core band out there haha.

Look up K-rino he's a underground rapper and has been one for over 20 years and that is just your opinion of rap like that guy said before dig deep and you will find gems of rap. I personally find rap now terrible but it is not a bad genre you've never heard of Kurtis Blow, Run-DMC or 2pac? And also I can guarantee you that more people can name off rap artists and groups than metal artists and groups.

Yeah, they're crap, but I can combine the lyrics that you and I mentioned, and make a song out of it easily.

As for the underground music that you want, there isn't really any. The radio just plays one song off a good album.

For example, definitely listen to Kendrick Lamar, Logic, J. Cole, Childish Gambinio, or Earl Sweatshirt. They're not underground in the least, but you need to dig deep into the music rather than judging off one song from the radio.

Idk about pop music, but I enjoy it nonetheless. I enjoy music overall, not just metal, unlike you.

Man fun fact I find most metal to be they most stupid, blatant, and dull genre out there. If I want extreme music Ill stick to my noise rock and industrial.

Hip-Hop is frankly fucking awesome. Sure is modern mainstream rap kinda dumb. Yes though It has some good artists in there (Kendrick, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco etc). But underground hip hop right know is amazing. Danny Brown, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, Death Grips, Clipping, Run the Jewels, all are amazing artists.

But dont pretend mainstream music was any less vapid back in the day. I can pick out thousands of dumb hits from any of the past decades.

But ill give you three rappers with deeper and more poetic lyrics than the bands you brought forth

I listen to everything from black metal to Japanese hip hop and traditional music from various countries,

Currently on a Japanese hip hop binge though, been listening to alot of PSG and Nujabes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuGFBDWhXj0

I love stuff like Behemoth and I also like some super chill stuff like PSG or Nujabes that I can just lay back with a beer to.

I think its pretty petty of you to generalize every rapper untalented as there are alot of them that are; while alot of the mainstream ones are pretty untalented, you have rappers like Tech N9ne who is a bloody lyrical genius

Tech N9ne Ft Serj Tankian
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4kkzsRJObE

Speaking of Serj Tankian, he's one of the greatest musicians of all time and he has a few songs with hip hop influences. (System Of The Down, Serj Tankian [solo project])

Its also pretty ignorant of you to say that music in any form could attribute to the decline in intelligence.

You just have different tastes lol.

I mainly listen to stuff like this;

Behemoth - Messe Noire

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eq2wgakP5Y

But that doesn't stop me from appreciating other genres of music.

*EDIT* I forgot to mention Gorillaz who are frankly one of the fucking most awesome bands ever, The blend hip hop and alternative rock together to great some sick ass songs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UclCCFNG9q4 and my personal favorite song by gorillaz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aym9-pzfvbA

an of course dont forget the og MF DOOM. Also more recent artists like Joey Bada$$ and Denzel Curry have some real things to say... hip hop has its fair share of wack artists, but there are so many creative rappers out there who really dont get a lot of credit.

Well i was listening to rap in the 80's and 90's so i can tell you that rap dose not at all suck. However, its in a very bad state currently.
But theres still good rap coming out.
Check out rappers like Chino XL, Killah priest, Slaughterhouse(particulary Crooked i), Raskass, Hieroglyphics, Nas, etc.

But having said that iam feeling Snoops new album "Bush" not even a rap or pop album really. Its mature, laid back, feel good music to vibe to so..

I dont really get into pop. I like some j pop lol. I dont listen to metal but i think alot of it sounds good.

Alternative rock, mostly. A little crossover into rap with bands like the Beastie Boys or Eminem. Other than that, I don't listen to much rap.

depends on what you're looking for. I can't speak for pop or metal but rap has distinct types in it's fanbase.

First you have the usual top hits; the nice beat and catchy hook with subpar lyricism and delivery. These tend to take up the music charts. These are popular because it conveys a simple message that can be easily repeated to add to familiarity.
Examples;

You have the "lyrical Miracle"; Songs that focus on punchlines and rhymes to capture the crowd. These tend to be the songs that showcase a rapper's skills on full throttle
Examples;

You have struggle music; The second most known of the styles, this is the one that people talk of their trials and tribulations. Popular because it can connect to others with this problem, similar to songs that speak of losing love resonates with broken hearts
examples;

You have story telling; the most misunderstood of the types. This conveys a story that the rapper may or may not have been through, but resonates with a specific group of people.
Examples;

Then you have what I like to call Otaku Rap; basically stretching from media, these tend to be references to, or about, forms of media, whether they be movies, music, tv shows, or yes anime. These are fun to listen to if you are a fan of those series or musicians
examples;

There are other styles of course but that'd be too long and I've already lost most of the people who were reading this.

In regards to metal, I don't listen to the genre, so I can't speak on behalf of it. But consider that if someone were to badmouth metal, you could effectively make a list like I did above of different types in defense of it, so that argument can be used for other genres as well.
