You're all missing the point.

Can you imagine being born into a body you feel doesn't fit you? You look in the mirror and see a mistake. It causes you to feel angry, depressed, suicidal. You can't relate. You can't emote how you feel.

You finally decide to become what you really are, and there's people who tell you that you're even more of a mistake now that you're happy. Free even. You finally realize no matter what, in the glaring eyes of the idiot society, that you are a mistake from birth to death, and even more if you're dealing with religious kooks.

It's topics like these that make me (a) ashamed of my religious orientation and (b) feel as though society has no value anymore. We're close minded, scared, sad people who eat and drink all day, destroy the Earth, and are only here to torture one another.

If we don't start realizing that this is a serious issue, and we need to allow people to be people, I see no hope for us.

My whole point is that people aren't going to agree, and that's alright. If someone is going to do anything so openly, trans related or otherwise, that's their business. But don't expect other people not to have an opinion and/or agree with the validity of it.

At the same time, people don't have to be jackholes in how they treat people. Disagreeing is one thing, harassment and actual cruelness is another.

There's idiots on all sides and angles of every issue so to assume everyone is going to agree, disagree or rush to the furthest edge of lashing out is just ignorant.

i agree with AiYumega, people should back off of other people's lives or try to at least understand what there going through before saying crap. It pisses me off when people say arrogant illogical stuff a.k.a homophobes -.-

Guys usually feel that way in later years once they get past 185 lbs. WE manage to live with it, frustrating non-surgical attempts to change it notwithstanding.

Phobia is a fear of, disagreement is disagreement. If you knew my family situation you'd realise how throwing an accusation like phobia is ridiculous.

Asked for honesty, got honesty even if my being honest isn't popular.

By an unfortunate trick of Webster's, "Phobia" can technically mean "hate/dislike", although, if you're hyperdefensive enough to create fantasy worlds where you're right and the rest of the entire world is wrong, it usually means "fear".
(Hence the joke that gay/trans are the "Star Wars nerds of sexuality": They overthink their hobby wayyy too much, they take blog photos of them dressing up in public, gather together in closed gatherings where they "understand each other" and the rest of the world doesn't, go out spoiling public stunts daring the public to speak against their sacred way of life and ridicule them, claiming "persecution" and "misunderstanding" whenever they do, demand recognition as a separate faction in our society, and then, when they get back in those private conventions again, claiming that the rest of the world is too repressed and "They PH3EER our Mad Skillz!" )

We need a less confusing term than "Phobic" to define those who simply consider them pathetic and immature without fear.
"Homo-bugged"? "Homo-annoyed"? "Homo-quit-watching-Spongebob-and-get-a-freakin'-life-already"?

How about just "homo not going to agree but you're still a human being even if I don't agree with you"....ic?

And I saw a friend in the Star Wars example. I'm a fan, he's obsessed. I used to joke about "he's obsessed with Star Wars like In obsessed with collecting stamps" but then he started getting honestly rage-y about anything SW related he didn't like. Got a little scary for a while. And somewhere in there he named his son Darth.

Yeah you helped me a little with understanding. Do you know why you feel like something is wrong? Or is it one of those times where you know something is wrong, but you are not too sure why? I really hope I don't sound rude asking that and I hope it made sense. I am generally curious about the matter. I would like to learn more about it. Is there any trustworthy articles/tests that have been done on Transgenderism that you could share with me, so I know a little more about the topic. Or if you don't mind sharing your story more I would love to hear it. I would just like a better understanding on the matter.

The assumption for those who come to the conclusion that they are transgendered is that their gender is wrong. For a lot of us it is present before we even really begin to learn about sex and gender. As for my story...

I have a blog

I have a certain restlessness, a feeling I need to be doing something yet unable to stick to whatever I decide to do. tv doesn’t entertain me. games do not distract me. I cannot work on my novel the words won’t come and I’m running out of places to put the stuff I’ve packed into boxes. and it’s too early for bed… argh argh argh.

So, does the personal unsatisfaction come from the gender issues, or do the gender issues come from the personal unsatisfaction?

Either way, it's a private issue that shouldn't be taken out on the world at large.

someone asked for my story. And that's how i felt on a particular day. realising one is trans and working towards it, is not a silver bullet of happiness.

edit

And what's this with taking it out on the world at large. If that's true why rebroadcast and comment. you know, in hindsight, i think that was truly a dick move. I'm not sure what you have to prove but you sure seem to enjoy spreading contempt.

Some famous psychologist dude who's name escapes me described it as a mental illness based on the false assumption that we have a choice in our gender. I don't care about your sexuality. I don't care if you cross dress. I don't care if you have a reassignment surgery. That stuff is all choices. Me declaring today that I am a woman on the other hand, while a choice, is also a falsehood. Gender is set, no matter what all the liberals and feminists try and claim. Male (born penis+testicles), Female(born vagina+ovaries), and the rare hermaphrodite(penis+vagina). I don't know if "Caitlyn" has had his "parts" changed yet, but in my mine he is just a cross dressing man named Caitlyn (not that there's anything wrong with that). Has he ever had a period? Will he go through menopause? Child birth? Those hells are much more defining of a woman than a vagina. Lastly, I believe these people should probably use their biological bathroom, not their identified bathroom...

I don't really understand this sentiment, though it's a common dismissive reaction to literally every social issue. If the world can't handle the existence of people who don't like their body's gender and possibly want to change it, the world is being ridiculously squeamish. It's not like they're terrorists.

That's a good start. But maybe you should drop all the other stuff you said, since it's all making demands and misconceived blanket statements (seriously, you just put all the common misconceptions about this issue in one post) about something you claim to not care about? Or was that supposed to be like "I'm definitely not transphobic, but..."?

i honestly dont care if a person changes gender, as long as they are 18 and older

...Aren't they?

(Especially when you consider most middle-eastern terrorists are just disaffected college students in go-nowhere lives and villages mounting increasing frustration with females' roles in a Muslim society, and the division of social status in the Saudi countries, and have decided to adopt defensive fantasies that they're keeping a "purer faith" than the rest of the world does and wrap themselves up in no-target anger stunts at cheap objectified symbolic public targets to "punish" those they feel "responsible" for their own disaffection.)

"I don't care i don't care i don't care i don't care.... but the bathrooms tho"

Ever noticed that most people who say they don't care always ask the most invasive questions? As if they are entitled to know

Also, human hermaphrodites are impossible. These people are called intersex. Get it right or go home

Reading through some of those comments makes me wish that there was a function for ignoring all of the posts of a user (or is there one?).
