I broke my own record. Didn't shut my eyes to fall asleep for two days.

What about you?

No idea. I could last for a while i'm guessing but never really tried. Summer experiment time i guess. I'll come back when the voices in my head say to.

Sixty-seven hours, through three days of eight-hour shifts. I actually wasn't forcing myself or needing to stay up for any particular reason; just had a spell where I wasn't getting tired. I didn't even "crash" at the end of this wakefulness marathon, I just sort of had a thought like, "You know, it's been quite a long time since I've slept, and since I'm actually going out, burning up energy and such, rather than dormantly hanging about, it seems like this can't be that good for me, regardless of how awesome it may be. Maybe I should just try to sleep."

Staying up for twenty-four hours is usually no problem. If I'm forcing myself, it seems like 38-41 is pretty much my bottleneck; I've made it past there organically or by sheer willpower probably less than five times in my life, including that recounted above.

3 nights during a trip to California and back. I'm a terribly light sleeper so sleeping in a car doesn't work. At the place in California I stayed for 1 night they had a rabbit I was terribly allergic to, so no sleep that night either. The train ride on the way back was of course too noisy to sleep.

So a little under 4 days. It was not fun.

Basic training. We did snag ten minutes here and there but basically went without sleep for nearly a week. People were seeing pink tanks, and life size green army men, one guy thought he got mickey mouse's autograph, another fell asleep in a perfect firing posture people didn't know he wasn't alert until he started snoring. When he woke up he couldn't move and had to get his buddies to pry his rifle down from his face.
