Started randomly showing up, out of nowhere, after I watched an episode of Naruto Shippuden. Now my CR looks like this:

The text in the white, blank area reads:

"Play on Chromecast Play on this screen
Sending to Chromecast...
An error has occurred. Please reload the page or contact customer support."

I've never used Chromecast, never plan to, and most certainly have zero desire to after this. Hadn't even heard of it before this crap. I've not clicked anything, all I did different than normal (which is clicking my queue then my videos) was click the Naruto Shippuden episode off the front page, never had watched it before. Is it a show specific trigger? Because now all videos on CR, even those in my queue, have this stupid issue.

I tried googling and searching the forums but there's no help on how to disable this, and it is extremely frustrating. Using Chrome, never had a problem until today.

EDIT: I guess I've fixed it? The only thing I did was close another window of Chrome on my computer that had Youtube/CR up in it. The kicker: It was just on my other monitor. My only guess is that, for reasons unknown to us mere mortals, CR decided it was going to Chromecast Nekomonogatari:Black from my secondary computer monitor... to my primary monitor, a Vizio. Without any prompt from me.

How very useful for me to Chromecast FROM ONE MONITOR TO ANOTHER. WAT.

If you are using the Chrome web browser on a computer, it shouldn't do anything related to Chromecast for any website unless the Google Cast plug-in was installed.

You may want to check Extensions in Settings in Chrome, and see if you have it. If you do, disable it and see if the issue goes away.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see you found the problem.

You mentioned your primary display was a Vizio. AFAIK, they don't make monitors, so is your primary display a Vizio Smart TV by any chance? If so, it may include Cast-compatible technology.

Yeah, it's a Sony Vizio TV (I don't know if SmartTV is a seperate line of Vizios or if they are all that by default) but I have no Chromecast extension installed. Unless it's rolled into Chrome by default now. (No Chromecast plugin either, as far as I can tell)

Just found it odd that it happened after I watched an episode of Naruto: Shippuden and the only other thing I found that was related to my problem had also watched an episode of it.

Oh well. Such is the way of technology, I suppose.
