You can find out a lot about yourself from running. When it's only you on a path at 6:00 in the morning. All you hear is yourself breathing but your mind wanders endlessly. You push yourself physically sure but mentally.... that's what running is, a mental battle. You can stop throwing one foot in front of the other or you can stop taking deep breaths but how long can you mentally tell yourself that you CAN keep going. Use that brain of yours to make that body of yours go to work.

Yeah I run, I'm training for a half marathon I hope to run on vacation next year.

5 days a week, I walk around my college campus just to get to class. Other than that, no actual exercise in terms of full cardio. But I have a power rack at home so most of my actual exercise is through weights.

Walking and running are my pretty basic ways of exercising but other than this year due to work site locations, I usually prefer doing a team sport like lacrosse, field hockey or rugby in the summer and ice hockey or snowboarding in the winter. If I'm going to be running/moving for long periods of time, I might as well be enjoying it.

Walk 7 times a week @ 4:00am in the morning to avoid traffic and to catch the cool morning breeze before the sun rises. Also the best time to burn more calories is in the winter, so walking/running in cold will help a little bit. However, wear warm clothing to avoid hypothermia in the cold weather. Listen to music to keep your mind occupied while walking/running.

I love running. I used to be a competitive swimmer in my teens, and then a few years ago I started getting in shape by doing triathlons. Before then I had never really done much running before. Triathlons turned into just running. I currently do it 6 times a week for a total of 50-70 miles a week. I am running a marathon in November, a 50k in January and a 50-miler in April. If everything goes well I am planning for a 100-miler at the end of 2016. We'll see..

I need to walk more. It's the only exercise I can handle. Just difficult to get in the habit of doing, summer doesn't last long enough here.

I usually walk 3 - 5 miles on Saturday and Sunday. I don't have the time during the week and running kills my ankles.

When I was in the military, I used to do between 5 and 20 miles a day on top of my time in the gym.

BayWatch comes to mind when I read his post. Is it running or walking? It defies all logic.

No, don't you know that actor?! Have you not watched 'No Country for Old Men'?! Aaaaah!

He's the serial killer in the movie dammnit. What if he cut your legs off and he's asking this question AFTER cutting your legs off?

I'm talking about the comment he made, not his avatar lol. I have seen that movie though. I enjoyed it.
