I don't care if you are religious or not. I don't care if you believe in Christianity, Islam or whatever. As long as you are a reasonable, rational and logical person, that's all that matters. You are cool to me. If you are an unreasonable, irrational and illogical person, it doesn't matter what religion you believe in. You are a nutter. While I believe certain religions are irrational, I think most religious people are rational because they usually don't deny reality.

I am personally agnostic. I don't have any opinion on whether or not God exists. However, I will believe in God if there was more evidence for him. I will believe in God only if peak oil does not cause the collapse of industrial civilization. If peak oil causes the collapse of industrial civilization, then I have no reason to believe in God. That's because if God exists, he wouldn't let industrial civilization collapse due to peak oil.

Like I said, I will only believe in God if a shit-hit-the-fan scenario doesn't happen due to peak oil.

What about you? Yes, I'm a doomer and agnostic. That's my world view.

I'm fairly similar. I think Religion does have a place in this world and for many people. I just happen to not have a personal one. I have many friends that believe in their respected religion and I commend them for it. What I do look for in them though is the ability to tell me why they make the decisions they make. I believe it's important for someone to know why they're doing something. For example if someone told me they didn't believe in gay marriage because the Bible said so I don't feel that is coming to a good conclusion and it's using Religion as a crutch to justify a lack of reasoning. Also gay marriage should be recognized but that's besides the point. This is just an extreme example however. Many religious people are very well educated, far more than I. These are the kind of people I appreciate religion or not. My friend became a Christian relatively recently so when we had an in depth discussion about why, I came to appreciate his view point and his deep thoughts on the establishment he had chosen and how there are pros and cons to the Religion and choice he has made. Ultimately I think it just comes down to how you feel and in that case nobody can tell you you're wrong for feeling a certain way.

I personally am agnostic. I will probably never be able to say for sure whether God, gods, so on exist. That doesn't really bother me too much. Well unless I'm really drunk and pondering life after death or something. I think it's more important to appreciate what's in front of me rather than get hung up on big questions with no answers. Those questions are worth pondering about sometimes though. Just my long two cents.

Okay, I'm calling DesuMaiden as SilverSongwriter's earnest young Sith-Padawan in "Artificially/Implausibly Contrived Thread Bombs".

Desu, pursue not this path of posting you must, as to the Dark Side, lead you it will.
(Plus, you'll also reach a point where we'll all start snickering.)

I believe in God, and I believe in right and wrong.

I don't do much else when it comes to religion, and do I care? No

Do I think my actions will keep me out of hell? Of coarse not

Agnostic, I guess. There might be some higher being whose concept of morality we cannot understand at all which created us for whatever reason, but we still don't know if that's true or not. I'm fine with religion as long as people don't use it to oppress others. Live and let live, right?

I don't have issues with personal spirituality, but that's about it. As soon as you start pushing your beliefs on others or feel that your shared spiritual beliefs entitle you to specific benefits or special treatment then I start having an issue. What you believe in your living room should have no impact on the way the world operates, what's taught in schools, what people are expected to do on certain days of the year, etc. So basically, spirituality or a personal religious belief is fine but organized religion particularly of the evangelical variety is not.

I'm an Atheist. I don't like organized religion, but I don't care what your beliefs are as long as you're not trying to shove them down my throat.

Would you mind giving an example of shoving down your throat?

I'm borderline agnostic, meaning I don't believe much in my given religion but I still identify as so. I'm Muslim and was born into a Muslim family.

Humans are unreasonable, irrational and often illogical by nature.

My Grandmother, who I chose to no longer have contact with, would constantly attempt to "convert" me. Whenever we had conversations god was always the answer. I needed "him/her/it".

Her whole life revolves around a cold, strict, form of Christianity that isn't tolerant of other's beliefs if they're deemed sacrilege.

I understand not all Christians are like this, but her negativity and intolerance early in my life led me away from any organized religion/faith.

Religion was and still is a very effective way to control the masses and make a fuckton of money. Those that follow are ignorant. Those that lead are liars and are intellectually dishonest. Yet they still continue...

Religion suffocates and perverts. I'm not really a fan if I'm honest.

I'm atheist. I don't care if you're into religion, just don't try to convert me. And most people don't, cept a few mormons. But they're fun to mess with so it's all good. Haven't run into any Jehovah's Witnesses yet....

Ohhh. what would you like her to be then, a tolerant person or an accepting person?
