Friendship

Why do a lot of people think it's normal for friends to be nice to each other and keep personal stuff to themselves? I think this should be something every person does, friend or not. If someone tells you a secret, and wants you to keep it a secret, why would you not do this? There has to be something more to consider someone a friend, but I wonder if I'm the only person who thinks like this. Perhaps it's all of those cute romance anime that made me believe that friendship is something special and that there's a clear difference between liking/tolerating someone and being someone's friend. What do you think?

I'm sorry, I never realised that it was a crime to be nowadays!

It's just the way I am! It's the way I've always been and the way I always will be!

Much better to be nice, friendly and genuine towards others rather than fake, insulting and nasty!

I was raised to treat people how I would want to treat myself. If you want to be friendly, it would hopefully lead to friendly conversation, right?

I'm happy it's summer. It means more time at the beach and Anime Cons.

Do you ever wish this forum had a multiquote option?

Oh wait, never mind, I just found out how to multiquote.

Space . How do you feel about it? Do you think theres more out there? I mean it is infinite. And its just as extreme a topic as religion. Some people believe in it and some people dont. Not in the fact that space doesnt exist, but the fact that theres even a point in venturing out there. I truly think theres TONS OF THINGS out there but we're too behind / slow / ignorant to go out. Besides venturing to the moon and mars with robo's honestly if we stopped warring each other and made peace and people stopped killing each other in our own country/cities for no fuckin reason then we'd definitely focus on the finer parts of humanity.

Of what it means to exist as a human. Not so much as an individual. Humanity is meant to evolve and reproduce to evolve. But we have people reproducing without a care or second thought in the world and its creating all types of problems. Worldy problems brought on in our own homes that we over look because its the norm. But if we ignore that for a second, evolution. The different eras we had we ended up making pretty drastic leaps in technology but what about now? We're still doing great things but so many people are suffering and only a few are actually doing the things that everyone should be doing, ya know? We're separated by class in the economy, by culture and religion (although in the long run culture will be important to history and individuals [such as myself to a degree] who value tradition), and language. So many beautiful things that make us different but keep us apart , when we should be united to go explore space and the trillions upon billions upon asl;fjasldjillions of things out there lol. The infinite possibilities that out weight the amount of stars that you could count in the sky at night .

Eons and eons into the future we'd still be out searching for great things, but right now, we're stuck on killing each other. So how do you feel about all dat? ;P

We are exploring space. I personally think we're living in a golden age of discovery and exploration in terms of technology and innovation. With better understandings of physics, chemistry, communication, etc., we're able to elaborate on our current understanding of optics and create lasers that can look out into the far reaches of the universe. The Higgs boson, that was discovered literally two years ago, was a breakthrough in quantum mechanics that lead to the better understanding of the fundamental properties of our own universe. Just because we aren't physically out there, doesn't mean we're not making progress...Speed is definitely not an issue. From when humanity began, we've only recently had success in the documenting of humanities' first flight by the Wright bros. In a little over a hundred years, look at where we are today compared to the time it took us to get there.

We, humans, like to fight amongst ourselves. Albert Einstein puts it like this, "So long as there are men there will be wars.", wars literally and metaphorically. It is what it is. We can build devices that can mimic the temperatures of the Sun's surface and the winds of Neptune, yet we still struggle to figure out who's right or wrong and worry about tomorrow's oral presentation. I believe we [humans] are naturally conflicting and our recent developments could just be that cherry on top. Because we are learning too fast. Our sentience and rationality is why we can question death or why your cheeseburger doesn't tell me bedtime stories. It's the price humanity pays for being so fucking clever. But, I believe, the greatest ideas emerge from the greatest conflicts. Take the Cold War for example, we all know the results space exploration flourished during that time. What drove such results? Competition? Sure. Desperation? I can see that. Throughout the two World Wars, chemical weapon research was insane. Now, i'm not saying war and conflict is 100% good but every coin has two sides, right? I personally believe every good has an evil and every evil as a good. We could create a bomb that operates off nuclear fission in order to kill many or create a reactor that operates off the same concept of nuclear fission in order to bring a better quality of life to that same many. We could operate said reactor and reap the rewards or lament at loss when we are punished by nature itself. yeh.

Yeah true, I suppose even things such as video games have gone so far in the time I've been alive. I just desire so much more I want us to already be out in space living crazy lives. But its hard to see the good when theres so much bad. But as you said there is two sides to every coin and I forget that sometimes haha. Sometimes I wish I was born more into the future... I would love to see how far humanity will go ya know? (:
